I was feeling thirsty on a Wednesday and I noticed that you can score some extra Flybuys with a Click and Collect order.
Wanted to get some authentic Japanese 500ml Asahi cans but the price is nuts so off to Dans I go!

Get a bottle of johnny red too!
I dunno man - the genuine stuff from Japan went down a bloody treat last time. The Strong Zeros on the other hand….
Used to be $5
What used to be $5? 1000 flybuys points is worth $5 flybuys dollars.
Spend $5
So l added a bottle of wine that was on special for $20 to my cart. Applied the promo code and it gave it a $0.01 discount making it $19.99.
WTF Liquorland. 😆
Actually, it's a legacy effect of the combination of the following:
When scanning systems where first implemented, naturally (and for programming reasons) a value of zero for the price of a product was deemed to be invalid. Then, when Shop-a-Docket deals were introduced, the simplest implementation was to code them as a product, requiring a non-zero (i.e. $0.01) price. Finally, we got online stores and the associated coupon codes. These were implemented in the same way as Shop-a-Dockets.
Note that Liquorland is not unique in this.
I tried first choice liquor and the don't have the same issue.
The way I understand it Coles Group (actually known as Coles Supermarkets back then) bought Liquorland way back in 1981. The Liquorland computer systems have since either been integrated with the Coles ones, or both have been separately upgraded to similar ones. (I haven't checked recently, but the same $0.01 shenanigans used to happen at the Coles checkouts too.)
First Choice Liquor on the other hand were a newer company, whose first store rolled out in 2005, that was acquired in 2006. It seems like they have a different, more modern system that was either designed with coupon codes in mind or could easily be modified without requiring the codes to be set up as products.
Does that mean you wont get the bonus flybuys points?
I assume so as your not spending $20.
Nope. You do get the bonus Flybuys points.
The spend value used to determine eligibility is the value in the cart before the coupon is applied. (And before the team member discount is applied.)
