How much are they after the first year?
$25/yr - over double what it should be….
Gotta be careful then… the cynic in me suspects that even after cancelling before the 2nd year, they might still "accidentally" continue to deduct the $25 from your credit card…

$25/year (from second year on) is a rip off. standard price is less than $9/year for a domain. Be very very careful.
Is anyone taking up the registrant privacy option and the domain protection option? Is it recommended?
Domain protection should be free (most other Resistrars), so $6.45 is a RIPOFF

FTP AccessIt says "free one-page web hosting". Basic web hosting costs $12 a year, on top of domain name registration fee.
I usually use namecheap, always been fine for me.
they give you 100mb free, but if memory serves me right they hide away the settings to change your domains dns servers. Might be better to wait for godaddy to do another round of $1 domains, 2nd year is only $10ish.
Essentially you are buying a package deal from doteasy, ie. domain registration/renewal plus web hosting with 1GB free (you start with 100MB but easily upgradeable to 1GB for free immediately) and email service for $1 in first year and $25 in subsequent years. I can't see how this is insanely high.
There is a $20 domain name transfer fee if you transfer during your first year (because you pay the promotional price) but not applicable after you renew it for another year at regular price. Hence if you like, it is $13 a year for 2 year commitment.
Like everyone else, I go for those with the best deal but up to now nobody has put forward another comparable deal that is significantly cheaper.

I had the worst experience with this company. After the first year, the price to renew your domain is insanely high. Just remember to look at their terms and conditions before you jump into this too good to be true offer. They lock your domain and charge you more than $20 if you want to transfer it to a different domain host. Their control panel is usable but does not give you enough control. I have a feeling they sold my information to another company as I started getting mails (physical mails, not emails) about domain and hosting to the address I registered it with. I know anyone can see your information through WHOIS but I have purchased more than 10 domains and not once have i received mail in my mailbox regarding my domain.

look like bargain but really not. $1 + $25/y after that, normally else where only $9/y and if you decide to transfer they will lock you domain as hostage and demand $20 to release it. You have to fill in PAPER FORM and FAX it back them, thats right FAX!! they use all manner of trapping tactics to lock you in wirh them. beware of these clowns
