Was at Costco in Adelaide and saw these Graco Move with Me swings for $99.97 which is a lot cheaper than they go for normally. $589 from Amazon right now.

elaborate?
On which part?
Babies should spend most of their time being held or lying on their back, with plenty of tummy time.
Sitting them in devices doesn't encourage their gross motor development.
My son started commando crawling before five months and is currently able to sit unaided for a short time at 6.5 months. He was rolling from three months.
I used a swing twice. Sometimes I used to put him down in a $20 fisher price bouncer seat when I had to leave the room.
Invest your $100 in a good floor mat
ah ok these are more for EVERY OTHER TIME theyre not doing what you said and you need a free hand to help settle them to sleep. Esp for busy parents who dont have sitters or family to help out
its not to be used (incorrectly) by parents trying to use it as an electronic baby sitter
i fully agree with what you said about tummy time etc. huge development benefits!
@furythree: I get the busy patent thing although I think the sitters/family help is a huge judgement leap on your part.
I know once I have two kids I'll probably have to rely on other methods to settle the baby but honestly I'd rather use a baby carrier/wrap than stick them in a swing. The bouncer was really useful but as I said, spent $20 on that not ≥$100
Yep agreed. Parents waste huge amounts on things that get used several times…
Learnt that.
It doesn't offer anything useful to them either imo.
There's a big second hand market fot baby stuff. You could probably use this for 6 months and sell it for the same price
Maybe… Or we found that at a very young age he would sleep in a swing or atleast be chill in it for short periods and that was a (profanity) God send.
Yeah, same here. It was worth it as my son actually slept in his.
Baby swings are one of the items that are actually really good to have. They won't work with all babies, but when they do they are well worth the money!
We inherited one from my cousin, used it twice. It's not actually sleep safe so I wouldn't be encouraging people to put their babies in it.
anyone knows if they have this in Costco Nortlakes?
There are one or two still on shelf
thanks.. got the last one.
just checked they dont have it in victoria, epping, dockland, moorabbin , NONE!
Forgot Ringwood?
Yess sorry ringwood as well… none of em got it
We are expecting our first one in Feb. Just bought a 3 in 1 high chair from ALdi today, $60 (i guess).
We certainly do not want to waste money so need from suggestions about what and what not to get.
Wait till after you start getting gifts…. Well being European we get flooded from randoms….
We had so much stuff we had already bought given to us.
Still kinda a waste of money considering their limited life span and the total lack of development that they would encourage
