Months ago, I switched to Alinta via Compare Energy and Gas via Cashrewards. My address was set up incorrectly by Alinta which was fixed immediately after I received the switch confirmation. My account number didn't change.
After the CR qualifying period has passed with no sign of the cashback, I contacted CR who then informed me that I was ineligible because I did not switch to Alinta and that CR did not get paid. I replied with a copy of my first electricity bill confirming that I have indeed switched to Alinta and have received no further correspondence since.
This is my first major problem with CR since I joined years ago.
Don't basically all the cashback schemes require that you go through only them and not another intermediary? Because the end seller (in this case Alinta) generally will only pay one lot of commission on any one transaction, so in this case if the intermediary directly in contact with Alina is Compare E & G, then they'll be credited the transaction and get the commission.
