Checking your insurance claims history to protect your coverage

I work in the insurance industry, and have just released a new website that allows you to check your past insurance claims history.

If you are shopping for your car insurance, it is critical that you disclose your (and any nominated drivers) claims history when making insurance applications - as insurers can and do check up on you when you make a claim. (Although this is the only database that the industry has to verify your claims history)

If you get your disclosure wrong - insurers can decline any claims that you make.
So protect your coverage and make sure that you disclosure correctly.

    Who can join IRS?
    Membership is only open to the insurance industry participants, including:
    Insurance companies
    Self insurers
    Loss assessors*
    Third Party Claims Processors
    Statutory authorities
    Investigators*
    *Loss assessors, investigators and third party claims processors can only use IRS on behalf of subscribers who are insurers or self-insurers. Loss assessors, investigators and claims processors are not permitted to conduct IRS enquiries on behalf of an insurer that is not a member of IRS.

        Of course the OP is genuine, how else would he get access?
        I'm curious as I thought basically only insurers had access as above.

    I work for Veda and maintain the database and site on behalf of the insurance industry.

    Individuals also have the ability to access their own files - so you can check and understand what the insurance market knows and shares about your past claims history.

    Not trying to be deceptive - I have an interest in the site as I manage it - just getting the message out there that consumers can and should check to protect themselves.

    I'll also look into establishing a discount code so that Ozbargainers can access for less.

      Has anyone had any success with writing , and getting any personal information held about them , sent to them, without payment? Any details?
