FWIW This year there will also be a Harry Potter advent calendar. All due to be released 1/9. Dunno if Leia etc will be in the new Star Wars set, but I understand there will be a porg wearing a Santa hat.
The new one has old Luke. The rest are just generic.
Generally u think these sets are worth it until they go on sale like this

These things look terrible. At least the microfighters have some detail - get those instead (pricier, but not rubbish)
