  If you happen to be retired or can arrange the time off this is a cheap holiday. I'd suggest adding a few extra nights in Japan for better value from the airfare.
  
  Added bonus is close time zone so less jet lag issues.

I'm guessing it would be so much more civilised cruising with the Japanese v's the significant percentage of Bogans that fill most of the ships departing Australian ports.
