It's good to be a UniSA student!
Esp'ly if you're interested in the Future of Nuclear Energy,
ie, Safe Small Liquid-Fuel: MOLTEN SALT REACTORS, due ~2030:
(Yes, I KNOW Australia BANNED use of Nuclear Energy here…
but - as soon as Molten Salt Reactors are, for the 2nd time
in history, proven Safe & Effective, not to forget Cheap -
AU will soon decide to ALLOW the MSR in, so, eg, Qld, NSW &
Vic can STOP Coal Power Plants polluting Australia's air.)
Anyway, there's a book you'll want to have, hold & peruse &
maybe get to know, deeper, to let others know you were OPEN
enough to the "seemingly impossible" opportunities that Th=
MSRs (& Thorium) offers us & the World, or will do, once its
version of MSR is ultimately developed.
- Here's the book:
- SPRINGER: "Thorium- Energy for the World: Proceedings of the ThEC13 Conference, CERN, Globe of Science & Innovation, Geneva, Switzerland, October 27-31, 2013 (1st Ed 2016)
In its Intro, you'll find this "Energy-Fuel equation" (that
lists 3 Fuels, from which the World makes Electricity, AND
the QTY of each one needed to make the SAME amount of Power):
3,000,000 mt COAL
= 200 mt Raw URANIUM
= 1 mt of THORIUM (in an MSR)
:physicist Carlo Rubbia (He uses more Words; it's still TRUE)
On paper, the book is costly, even its Kindle edition is:
- At the moment, Amazon.com.au shows:
1a. Amazon's Hardcover price: $ 230.70
1b. Its Kindle edition costs: $ 177.65
- Any UniSA student can get the same book Free, in PDF, from the UniSA Library, as a cost-free download.
(Is it available from other uni's, to students & staff…?)
I hope so. Watched a good doco on this a few years back, makes total sense to me at least (ok that's not saying much…..)
Here's a 5 minute summary.
