AmEx Statement Credit Offers: Partial Refund but above $500 Remaining

So I bought some items from Sony using the recent 500/150$ cash back offer but in one instance i need to claim a price match difference after already paying and getting the Amex offer.

Can the retailer do a partial refund such that the final amount is still over $500 without losing the statement credit?

If no one has a quick answer, I'll call them myself. Thanks.

    it is fine, you will not lose credit. It happened to me before.

    I had an order cancelled so the credit was reversed, reordered it but the credit didn't come
    Called Annex, explained it, they said the system doesn't automatically issue the credit again but as long as the spend was met in line with the terms they will manually credit it for me but it's something that will need to be requested. No major dramas on that front for me

    I got a TV with the Harvey Norman Amex deal a few months ago. I went back to HN a few days later as they had dropped the price and I got a refund for the difference which took me under the Amex deal. I still got the Amex cashback without issue.
