Professional Racer Chair $147 (Was $199) @ Officeworks

120

The professional racer chair is on clearance now with the price being $2 cheaper than the Bathurst racer chair

Some differences between the two (for the Professional):
- Adjustable back tilt
- Higher back portion
- Only black (Bathurst has black, red, white and blue) - I guess the "professional" racers don't care about colours anyway.
- Adjustable arm rests
- Rated for 135kg (Bathurst 120kg)
- 5-8 hours sitting time (Bathurst 3-5 hours)
- Doesn't have a back curve (Bathurst does)

Happy racing!

They do! It really just boils down to attitude and commitment to competing priorities and a mild amount of cleanup.

    • This is a "professional" chair as per title.

      Pro's use a catheter 🤣

  • Can some one comments on the quality of this chair?

Every time this is posted it gets nothing but good reviews from people.

Some of the reviews say they've had issues with the gas strut, failing between 6-12 months.

      Get wachu pay for

    • Got one late last year, the gas piston failed within a month and the lock/hinge between the back and bottom is starting to loosen. The max weight should be more like 110kg. I'm not jumping around or being rough with them but those Officeworks chairs don't last long with me.

Kinda hard to be serious when it's a "professional racer chair".

      • Its legit bro. Gonna increase you race cars responsiveness in game if you have this chair.

      • Little ones adore role play and pretending that they are doing jobs just like the grown-ups!

  • Been eyeing the ikea markus basic model but this is a pretty okay price. Im sure it will do fine as a light use office chair

I have the Bathurst racer chair and would definitely spend the extra $2 so you can have or not have the arms - basically if you are wanting to watch YouTube or any type of video, you would have it down (so you can rest your arms) but when you are working you can have them hidden so that you can move the chair under the desk in order to avoid having a bad posture when typing (if that makes sense)

    • This isn't extra $2. It's $2 cheaper than the Bathurst.

      • I know

        • ahh ok, got what you meant.

  • Rather jump on ebay and read some reviews for roughly the same coin.

    I've learnt Officeworks=Shit (usually)

  • While I can't comment on the Officeworks brand, I have 2x DX Racers (one for home and one for work) and absolutely love them. Had bad chairs at home and work, once I bought these my back felt so much better!

    • Where from & how much?

      • Bought them a while ago, so not too sure. They're around $300 each I think.

  • anyone know someone that can help me fit this into my car?

    • Yea it comes as a flatpack which you need to assemble and can be collected in a car.

  • Can the arms be removed?

    • Yes, they're screwed to the seat on the under side and can be removed.

How do you steer them? Do most people compete in downhill or towed events? What sort of an income do the pro Australian office chair racers make?

  • I quite like mine, had it about a year now. I've done multiple 10+ hour panic/final study stints in it, was comfortable enough and didn't get to fatigued, and not much sign of wear yet. But I'm ~80kgs and 5'10.

My main complaint is the arms, not insanely comfortable, it can't be moved out of the way, so not conducive to playing a guitar in and the like

  • I've had it for about a year now.
The quality is what you'd expect. It's comfy enough for long gaming sessions, however the back rest has had a bit of a work out because I like to lean a lot of weight on it. It's damaged the mechanism a bit causing it to tilt back to the furthest distance when I put weight on it when at ~120 degrees.
Just treat it well and it will be fine ;)
