Which Is Better Landlord Insurance?

Looking for landlord insurance. The search suggests that both EMB and Terri Scheer are best in the market.

Which one is better out of these 2 and why? Any other alternatives?

Also any possibility to get better pricing than online quote?

Aami and Allianz, used both and they are good, online quote are the cheapest. Pick the one that suits you based on the PDS.

obtain an over the phone quote. maybe cheaper, or maybe more expensive.

  • Go through Property Chat and discount on EBM.

    • What's the discount?

  • Another option is Westpac. Can't remember the finer details but when we did a comparison they came out on top with inclusions, dollar amount covered and overall price.

  • I found allianz to be the cheaper of the two you mentioned. Dont just go on name

  • Read the PDS. Make sure it covers you for what you want and you are aware of the exclusions.

  • As others have said, make sure to read the PDS regarding the exceptions. For example, some policies won't cover you for malicious damage caused by your tenant or someone invited by the tenant.

  • I was with Terri Sheers for my landlord insurance. There was a fire at the neighbouring property and damaged my investment property. Took them nearly 2 weeks to come out and have a look, and then took another 3 weeks for one of their tradies to come out and do an assessment

In the end, their assessment was nearly $800 more than what my builder could do, so I took a cash settlement and got him to do it.

  • Update: I was able to receive 2 months free from EBM

    • Great news. May I ask how did you manage this? TIA

  • Fyi: my quote with ebm was $373 and Terri shear was $430.

I'll try getting two months free
