Broadband Options Whilst Waiting for NBN

Hi all,

Im moving into my new house soon and I saw that NBN is not live til Dec 2019 (surprise, surprise)

I was looking to go with aussie home broadband but they dont do adsl.

So I was thinking of going initally with mobile broadband until NBN comes online and then activate NBN deal.

I was looking at exetels wireless broadband deal on a month to month basis https://www.exetel.com.au/broadband/home-wireless

What do you guys think?

What's your average data usage per month? Any streaming?

    Exetel is limited to 12/1 speeds via Mobile Broadband (which is stupid in my opinion).
    
    Could be wrong but Jeenee has decent data plans - if you have a portable modem/spare phone you could use the sim in that and hotspot.
    You could always get a portable Optus modem of the facebook marketplace/gumtree for ~$20

      In my current rental I have tpg ADSL and got 12/1 so I'm used to how terrible broadband is in Australia!
      
      I just want something hassle free for the next few months until NBN gets installed

        @shavo30: If it's only ~88 days you could hop from a Kogan sim to a Catch Connect sim to a Boost Mobile prepaid sim and you will be getting 35-40gb per month.
        Kogan Mobile - 40gb $4.90 for 30 days
        Catch Connect - 40gb $4.90 for 30 days (Plan ID 432c)
        Boost Mobile - 35gb for $30 for 28 days
        
        The $100 60GB Boost Sim has only 60GB total or the $200 150GB Boost Sim are also options if you want something hassle-free - the $100 and $200 sims have a 6-month expiry

Keep in mind the NBN ready dates normally move, I'm with spintel for $50 a month ADSL, no complaints

  i could go with adsl plan. i just thought that wireless broadband may be less hassle.

Depends on the current state of the landline in the house. If it's disconnected and you have to pay for a new line, that's the equivalent of a couple of months of wireless broadband already.
