I've been searching the webs whenever i'm free (2-3 times per week) and have not seen a single good deal. Is this normal? does that mean the the Gen 6 is still in high demand?

Doubt it, they're probably just not making the Gen 6 anymore.

Doubt it, there's probably little stock of the Gen 6 left to clear out.
But when Gen 6 was around (till the very end of the cycle) Gen 5 was still on sale for a much cheaper price, iirc 1500AUD, compared to 2000+ AUD
