Balter Pilsner 4 packs currently $10 at Dan's.
I believe the Pilsner is being replaced by a lager so could explain the price drop.

@Pantagonist: It was a revelation to you though apparently because at least twice you've claimed there is no hype in the craft beer world and if there is no-one is influenced by it. Seems you're making some progress because unless I've misinterpreted your first line above ("Your point appears to be that craft beer is crap in some cases and in those cases it attracts a premium price due to hype / BS, a point which is not a revelation to anyone") it now appears you're acknowledging what many people already know. Anyway, to repeat what I've already said - people should drink whatever they like.

I'm talking in relation to this specific beer and saying that the "hype/BS" tag doesn't apply to it.
You haven't tried it, yet felt compelled to comment that the price had something to do with craft beer hype/BS.
@Pantagonist: Lol, if flip-flopping and "misspeaking" were valuable commodities you'd have enough to indulge your craft beer obsession for a lifetime. Make up your mind. For the record, which is it? Is there wank and hype in the craft beer world or not? While you're contemplating that mind buster you might also like to answer these questions: are all craft beers worthy of their lofty prices?; and, are they all good to drink?
@[Deactivated]: I think I've made it very clear that I don't think hype/BS factor applies to this beer or beers brewed by Balter in general.
I have drunk my fair share of average craft beer that isn't much better than "non-craft" beer, but I'd say it's the minority in the overall market.
This deal is about Balter Pilsner, hence my comments relate to Balter Pilsner. I've also tried Balter Plisner so can also contribute my personal opinion about the beer.
How about you?
@nubzy: See my reply above.
The Black Hops link gives a detailed summary of what a carton of their Saison costs them to produce, and it's around $70.
Honestly, I don't care what people drink. I just find it funny that people get so cranky about craft beer as if there's no justification for the extra cost. Personally I've never cracked a can of craft pale ale and thought "damn, a Coopers is just as good as this."
@Pantagonist: Judging by the comments and negs it seems to me it's craft beer afficionados who are getting "cranky" Nomadesque.
What crap is this? Like saying mass produced no name lamingtons full of preservatives and colouring is better than home made by CWA Ladies. Drop your paranoia and understand real craft beer is costly because of the real ingredients and cost behind making it.
Local Dan's called to say they were out of this after I paid for online order. Upgraded me to 4 pack of Double IPA (IIPA) 500ml 8.6% for free. Sweet deal! Normally $9 per can.
Jackpot, and not because of the price differential.
HOT DAMN.
Btw, it's an Imperial IPA not Double IPA.
bought 2. Thanks
$6.90 delivery. Darn.
The same product is also being sold this cheap ($10 a 4-pack) at Boozebud if anybody shops there!
sold out at my local dans
I bought some yesterday and it doesn’t taste great, has a sulphur taste in some but not all cans, I’m thinking they had a problem with the batch.
Personal opinion - but hands down the worse pilsner I've had in years. Not crisp at all.. very bitter and comparable to a cheap bottom range beers I used to drink when I was skint in my uni days (Tooheys red bitter, TEDs, Chang etc.) Maybe because it's close to expiry?? Aug 2019 on my batch.
Just boggles my mind how balters have botched this beer so bad. I like their other stuff.
any updated opinions on this? some of the recent comments turned me off.
crap beer. should have listened to the comments.

Seeing as you haven't tried this beer it's impossible for you to know whether this fits into your narrative, so I'm having trouble working out what specific point you're trying to make beyond "a product that is for sale also has a marketing campaign attached to it which may exaggerate the benefits of said product." Again, a fact that would surprise no one who has engaged in the modern capitalist economy.
