Looks like a good deal on some Dash Cams.

Thanks to pricehipster.

Price usually around the $299 mark have been dropped to around the $100-$150 before.

  • Is this any better than a Viofo A129?

Whenever I see a gadget like this, I ask myself why people just don't use their old phones?

      Better camera
      Better software
      Better connectivity
      Better Wi-Fi
      Cellular connection
      GPS tracking
      Music player
      Video player
      ….
      Even more

A phone is totally wrong for this application.

You want something that turns on when you start the car, turns off when you stop, automatically creates a new video every few minutes, does rolling overwrites on the memory card, doesn't have an internal battery that will explode in summer, and is mounted up high on your windscreen. None of which a phone will do without stuffing around. Why bother when you can get a dashcam for $50 that does all of that out of the box.

I have a G1W-CB (several actually) and it's pretty much set and forget.

Almost pulled the trigger but not much love from OZB community is concerning

  • The 900 is actually a very good camera. I don't use it but know someone who does and is very happy with it for 2+ years. This is a great price for a quality dashcam from a b&m store. I would say its about on par in video quality with the Blueskysea B1W which is also popular with ozbargainers at a similar price point.

Also at this price, might be worth grabbing one for the rear if you already have a front dashcam.

The other two don't look so good from the reviews though.

  • Needed a good twin cam that dosen't break the bank, but the reviews on the JB were very concerning. Anyone has any suggestions?

    • Buy two of the 900's, or otherwise go for the Viofo dual channel.

Was coming considering this till I read this review:
“My only complaint is that I can't set the time manually - it locks onto the GPS - and it only has whole hour time zones. Because I live in the NT I have had to set the time to GMT. South Australians would get this same problem.”

    Doh! 🤦‍♂️

Have this dashcam. Don’t bother, constantly freezes and reboots while driving. Tried multiple SD cards with the same issue. Got it exchanged at JB’s but same problem with the new one.

  • it's not for delivery and pick up is nowhere available in Victoria :(

  • Got two delivered today, tested…. and they are horrible…. return them.

    • Why horrible? It is a good camera for the price IMO. Turn off all the lane keeping and other rubbish and just use as a camera and it will do a good job.

    • Can you please elaborate?

I have 942, 920 and 900 on hold for pick up one on Sunday.

  • Also it supports 64gb micro sd cards? and it says upto 32gb?
