  • Thanks. Had this through Amazon but wanted to get it from the Play store seeing as I have piles of free credits from surveys.

  • That's simply the best reading app for Android. Loved it.

    • So, you like ad's…?

Or… does buying it Turn Off the ad's?

Why is it "so much better" as a reader app?
(Or… are some here as influencers…?)

      • Buying it gets rid of the non intrusive ads.

It has options to customise everything from font size to line and word spacing while being easy on the phone and battery.

You should try out the free version first to see how powerful this app is.

I've used it and got most things readers want. Except text to voice and doesnt have cloud backup via dropbox. IMO its best on android.

Marvin on ios on other hand has both of these. But marvin isnt avail on android

        • I'm pretty sure it has text to voice. I can't remember if you have to turn on the function but it's the speaker symbol at the bottom of the page after clicking the center of the page to bring up the menu.

It can work with Dropbox and GDrive. Under My Files, click on the drop down next to Local Files > …(Options)

          • @thangcuoi: You're right. But text to voice or tts is available on pro version only.

Thanks for clarifying that dropbox storage is available on moon reader

      • The app feel fairly responsive, small size, compatible with all major ebook and comics formats as well as PDF. It gets frequent updates. What more could you ask for in an ebook reader? I bought it in 2015 for $2.08 and I'm still using it frequently.

Keep in mind that this app go on sale every few months, unlike other popular Android apps that had been around for many years such as Nova Launcher, Poweramp, MX Player Pro which might only have a sale once a year.

  • I use it and love it. If only there was an iOS version, the iPad would be put to good use.

    • We enjoy lotsa content - on iPad or iPad Mini # - from app "CBC Radio" etc.

For ipad, use marvin. Free or paid version available

  • its the only app i really use on my tablet. Great for all the epub and various formats. scroll speed is excellent, helps train for speed reading.

  • Can anyone pls advise if this can be used for amazon kindle books aswell?

  • Has anyone here compared it to the old and once best (but now unsupported) "greader" app by the developer noinion? (I'm not referring to the Google Reader site.)

I still use the app successfully on Android 8 for feeds and podcasts, but it does have a few bugs.

    • I'm fairly certain most people migrated to Feedly.

      • Sure, that's for Google Reader, but the greader app was a third-party RSS reader, not a Google Reader product. The app accesses Feedly, The Old Reader or other RSS feed collecting services, as well as having the ability to collate feeds locally.

  • Was waiting to get this, as the one on Amazon is still v4.4.

I mean, I use it for ebooks or other file formats.

In case people wanted to know what they're buying:

    benefits in pro version:

    *Ad-free
*Shake the phone to speak (TTS engine support)
*PDF support, fast & speech compatible
*More beautiful backgrounds, fonts and reader themes
    *Multi-point touch support
*Option for password protection at startup
    *Headset & Bluetooth keys control
    *Book to home screen shortcut
    *Customize reader bar function
*Annotations, highlights & bookmarks share support
    *Reading statistics function
*Sync/Backup/Download/Upload book files via Dropbox or Gdrive
*Widget shelf support, group your favorite books, put them to desktop as widget
    *Customer email support

Of all those benefits, I think people would most likely need atleast: Annotations, highlights & bookmarks share support / Ad-free
