Bought Li-Ion Spare Mobile Phone Battery From AliExpress But Returned Back To Seller?

Bought this for my Telstra Buzz (ZTE Q Blade Lux) but seller has contacted me stating:

We are really sorry to inform you that your parcel has been return back by post office due to Aviation Control.

As for your order, we would like to refund to you.
Could please open a dispute by "Parcel received - Personal Reason - I no longer need the product"
And then inform us then so that we can refund to you soon

We are really sorry for your inconvenience and hope to get your understand.
Please leave message free if any question.
We will reply to you as soon as possible!

I guess it's pointless to ask them to resend it to me as there's no chance I'd be able to get the battery into Australia? It's only 2200mAH :/

I don't know anything about Ali Express so feel free to disregard, but I would be deeply suspicious of being asked to say that you no longer require the product (maybe they are avoiding negative points on their account or they want to be able to only give a partial refund?). If they can't ship it to you, let them put in their own reason…

Why should you have to "admit" you've changed your mind for a refund to happen?

Sounds dodgy to me. I wouldn't comply.

Yeah. I'd just tell AliExpress - item not received, and request the refund. It probably puts a mark against the seller though, which is why they're asking OP to lie, so depends on how nice OP is feeling I guess.

I have had a lot of sellers try and stall until protection runs out, offer partial refunds and then when you refuse wait the absolute maximum amount of time before refund processed and more. If you want your money, don't risk it.

    Sounds dodgy to me

Open a dispute, click item not received, then under reason click customs problem.

Plenty of scammers on AliExpress, I'd be cautious

    • ^This, and tshow and Kangal approve

    Just do as they ask.

They can't post the item, and Aliexpress will penalize them for any other reason.

Not their fault, and they have been upfront and honest with you.

  • Sounds like the parcel was rejected because of the battery.

Its not a lot of money so I would just do what they ask and get the refund. Doing so won't harm your account, but not doing so might harm theirs. I'd say it's one of the few that got caught and rejected so it's not like the seller was trying to scam or anything.
