From the pic above, would the cameras catch cars north and south bound? (green) or do they only work east and west bound?

…red means stop
but amber is free estate?
Unless you're going to a brothel then it means go!
Maybe they should if you have driven past a red light.
Up and down only.
(But seriously, east and west only).
Kinda hard to get a picture of the license plate from the side of the car.
With a wide angle lens the camera will catch all cars
I don't believe they do, but their existence is often advertised even if you approach the intersection from a different direction.
Just be more careful next time, OP.
I would think just the roads that display Red light/Speed cameras ahead signs. By law they have to display these signs before they nab drivers.
I only know of this type of camera that can do all angles:
They are the worst camera's IMO I've seen so many people panic and end up with a ticket they shouldn't have had because they all of a sudden notice the amber and slam the brakes on (potentially causing accident) or hit the accelerator to prevent getting caught by the red light so they get caught speeding instead, whoever came up with that one has issues!
As for the camera itself they take multiple snaps to determine reason which is why they have they generally have markers on the road for contesting the Ambers or conditions beyond your control i.e. having to move for emergency services, I think they have an issue with false triggering which is why they don't do all 4 directions yet (such a pity) we have one a street over which the bar patrons move the large sun shades into the line of sight of the camera to protect themselves from the sun :-)
I'm sure it will all be reported back by your car in the not to distant future (Do we still get audible warnings for speeding in the tunnels overrides audio system when people used to listen to the radio)? the last time I heard it recently was overseas.
I still have to laugh at the people who speed through the distance speed camera's (calculated speed over 2 points) over a hundred clicks between them, they speed for 90% of distance, unless they get caught by a camera or an actual copper doing the legwork, then they sit at a servo or by the side of the road and wait for the time to pass then resume before hitting next checkpoint.
Check the roads for cuts and reinstatements.
No. The entire intersection is required to be signposted according to RMS policy though, so you'll often find the 'Red Light/Speed Camera Ahead' signs facing directions which don't have cameras active.
No, they cannot catch cars north/south bound.
PS, don't speed and/or go through red lights next time. ;-)
