NO CAPES!
Super misleading information.
The improvement is not only on the core/memory clock
2080
CUDA cores 2944
RT cores 46
TDP 215W
2080 super
CUDA cores 3072
RT cores 48
TDP 250W
Not a big boost but roughly 10% but also give more overclocking capability with the increased TDP
From reviews, the 2080 super is only average 6% faster than original 2080. Original 2080 can be had for under 1000$ so use your own discretion.
Wouldn't call the original post misleading, just incomplete.
That's what I did, bought a Gigabyte Windforce OC 2080 for $910 just a couple of days ago.
I was considering a 2070 Super, but the 2080 was only about $50 more, and reviews show it is better. I was initially going to wait for the 5700 XT partner board, but I have a Samsung 2k 144hz monitor that is behaving weird with my R9 Fury, and it seems to be a Radeon problem, so hopefully a NVidia card will solve it. Plus the 2080 is quite a bit better than a 5700 XT and only about $200 more.
Call me when there is a 2080 Ti Super OC Extreme Edition.
Nvidia is starting to go the Dragon Ball route with their naming conventions - 2080 Ti Super OC Extreme Blue God Instinct Founders Edition
I mean you are not wrong with all the GT this and GT that the only thing they have not used yet is Dragon Ball Heroes.
So maybe a 5080 Ti Super OC Extreme Black Dimension Primal Rage Force Heroes Founders Early Access Edition Supporters Pack in 10 years time or sooner?
Oh my god these prices are a joke
I agree. The only thing super about this RTX generation of nVidia cards are the prices. Ridiculous. No offense, OP.
What is it, 20% more performance then the 5700xt for nearly double the price?
It's around 10% or less in most titles compared to a GTX 1080, which were going for ~$800 a few months ago.
RTX 2080 is equivalent to a GTX 1080Ti, very similar frame rates in games. 1080Ti also benefits from 11GB of VRAM over the 8GB on the 2080. Current asking price for the 1080Ti depending on model is $750-$850
I need this for my excel work
Why not just get the AMD RX 5700 XT for almost 1/2 the price ?

That increased core clock sure is.. Super?
