Can I Access Netflix US via VPN?

Hi OzBargainers!

I am sure this has been asked a lot in the forums here and else but I am a newbie so be gentle.

I have NORDVpn subscribed for 3 years and I want to know how to get access to Netflix US (or Canada or UK)?

I know about the Geoblocking issue and not being able to access Hulu and other services even using certain VPN services?

Does anyone know which older version of Netflix works before the geoblock?

Any recommendations is most appreciated.

UPDATE: I used NORD VPN and connected to the US Server. I could easily access the US NEtlfix on my PC with my Aussie Netflix account.
Also on my IPAD it worked fine through the APP.
Android, however, did NOT work on my Nvidia Shield.

        on pc, but should work on android too. just need to run the vpn on the android box

    I'm working on getting this working with my TV.
    On your laptop, it's simple - Set NordVPN to Australia (US Netflix works). Watch in browser.

    TV - I've set the VPN on at the router however the app has extra detection I think. US netflix loads but you get the bypass/proxy error when trying to play US titles.

    You don't need to buy a US account

      So basically I have an Oz netflix account I can use the us netflix just by using a vpn and choosing a US server?

      Yeah someone gave me some good information on this with the Nvidia Shield TV, you have to uninstall the default Netflix App as it has some annoying protections that stop the VPN from working.

      You have to instead install an android version that does not have these stupid blocks, or maybe it was an older version of the App… but I think I am on the right track on how to resolve.

        I have an Nvidia shield as well. With the Apk I think I have to download the US version from the US playstore.

        There is an app called Island which clones the environment/apps so it is not detected by third party, I have to find a way to have the US playstore version then i can download the US Netflix. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnXbputKJXA

        I use it to play golf clash and have the notebook app running simultaneously so it is not detected.

          Sweet, I have still yet to get this all sorted on my own Nvidia Shield TV, been pretty lazy with it since I started watching Stranger Things.

    I use pc chrome ext and just got proxy error last night so if I do my router will I have a better chance thanks

    Was so much easier to get US Netflix before it came to Australia :/

    Just sign up with a VPN provider that promises US Netflix.

    Warning to all: Don't update your Shield TV to latest version - They will force update your Netflix version and take away the ability to downgrade it to 5.3. It's infuriating.

    ETA: you will actually completely lose all ability to uninstall any of the default apps.

      It happened to me. I can only access aussie netflix. Tried using different servers on Nord VPN but it didn't work. I can't uninstall Netflix app so I can use an older version of Netflix which worked on my android phone. On my Ipad mini no dramas. Easily accessed US Netflix.
      Anyone know how to get rid of preinstalled apps on Nvidia shield?
