I'm not 100% sure if you can say hey Google play nailed it on Netflix and it will play it.
What I do know you can do and what I do is cast things from my phone to it i.e. kayo and that works fine. Haven't tried Netflix but can't imagine it being any different.

I think this thing is way too small for a kitchen which is what i wanted it for. I think the Google Nest Hub Max with the 10" screen would be the one to go once it is available as it has a camera as well.

It can sit on a window sill in your kitchen where it does not interfere with anything else and don't mix with other kitchen appliances.
Camera is a big subject… I may not mind that others may hear me (in any situation) but to be able to be seen…. Even in kitchen it can get too hot sometimes ;-)
And there is not always time or thought to turn the camera off (as I almost never turn the microphone off at the google home devices)
Agree, may be good for videocalls.
I have discovered it now lets you browse Wikipedia on the display. I am very happy with mine
(also displays live song lyrics through Google play music)

Can you disable YouTube videos on these? Or better still restrict YouTube playback to the owners? I don't need another device for the kids to watch Minecraft videos on!
I believe so. Just don't link it to the youtube app on set up.

Can these play Netflix yet? Would be great to have a small screen in the kitchen when cooking or doing some housework, and I don't really watch anything on youtube
