Nearest I can see for the flexible model is $7 on ebay, two other models also on sale. Great if you have a gas hob/bbq with a bad starter.

Yeah its quite funny. I had cause to pull one apart last week, and inside it is a tiny bic lighter.
Was wondering why these don't last long.
The $5 one is refillable and has a longer nozzle so is the better buy IMO.
The little ones are handy but as you say, disposable.
I couldn't see anything on the $5 BIC one that said refillable and there were no holes in the case for a refill nozzle so I got the Samba which has refill hole and says refillable.
Having used the Bic fluoro lighter for the past 2 years, I wouldn’t mind buying it again even at full price and that’s because they’re much more reliable than the other cheapies that we could find which are unbranded.
We have however, recently bought the flexible head Bic lighter. I’ve not started using it as yet. So can’t say how good they are..

Which IMO would be the ultimate lighter we're it refillable and adjustable… Build quality superior to any other!
A nice comfortable push button mechanism, but note, it's not refillable nor is the flame adjustable.
