Fixing Rubber Seal on outside Window of House

Hi All

I have just noticed that the rubber seal on one of the windows of my house is not properly done.
I could see the that the rubber seal is not covering the bricks.

I have added some pictures. Could someone please advise on fixing this.

Edit: I noticed dust on inside of window and assuming, fixing gap could fix the dust issue.

I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s just poor quality work. This would have an eave above it. Any water would have to come in at an angle and then would go out weep hole in bricks.

    • Thanks for your reply.
Actually, I see dust on inside of window (we rarely used this room and found the dust issue recently) and thought that this could be the cause.
I will update the post to be more precise.

I assumed that fixing the gap would fix the dust issue.

      • Yeah wind could be getting in and pushing dust up maybe. I'd pack the gap with little bits of wood then use black silicone to seal it all off.

    Gap filler

That dust is coming from wind blowing through the vertical gap between the two window panes.
Not the best solution, but since I don't need to ever open the window, I just tape up that gap.

  • Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I will try out the suggestions.
