Hi all, I'm on a replacement Nexus 6p I received when the old one's battery failed. It's barely working now with the same battery issue and I'm looking to jump ship ozbargain styles. I buy my phones outright and use a Kogan sim. I've had good experiences warrantying from the Google store versus a JB which is arduous with solvup and their way of diagnosing. I haven't had a single Android phone work flawlessly after 2 years.
Interested in your recommendations for this ecosystem. I want a good camera and coming from a 6P, I do like the larger phones. So:
- Missed EPP edu deal for $974 for an S10+ 128GB. The S10 is getting on in its product cycle
- Pixel 3. No to the notch and no to this phone. It was half baked from Day 1.
- Pixel 3a XL. Looks great but not much more for an S10+ which I feel beats this phone.
- Hang on for Pixel 4 knowing it will be over $1000
- Wait for Note 10 knowing it will be $1500k
- Buy a 3a to get over the hump in the interim (the cost and specs I just can't seem to justify)
At the moment, the S10+ is looking the best. I'm in the Google ecosystem and like it. I like Google photos and use all G-apps extensively but damn, their phones always seem to have fault, crap specs and/or slowdowns.
I have even contemplated going to an Iphone but I am so deep in the google ecosystem, I feel like I won't like it.
Most if not all Google-made apps work on IOS as well. All phones slow down in time but yes, generally IOS could be considered more stable than Android.
