Quality Suit for a Budget?

Hi,

I am looking for a decent quality 3 pc floating canvas suit in Sydney for a budget of $1000.
I understand that there have been similar posts in the past, however, they differ in terms of the budget, location and viable options.

For example for $1000, I am hoping to get a high-quality MTM, or preferably an entry-level semi-bespoke suit.
Options like flying overseas to get it stitched for half the price is not viable for me.

I have done some research online and was a little surprised with the amount of astroturfing taking place at various forums.

If there are multiple competitive options then I will create a poll.

    I know you said overseas is not an option. Just want to give my 2 cents. I had a custom 4 piece suit made in bangkok for around $600 including 2 shirts, top quality fabric at 1 of the top tailors in town.

      Which tailor did you visit in Bangkok?

    Buy off the rack and then use a good tailor to fit it to you properly.

      If you are close to a good fit for a off the rack suit, then this option is perfect.

      It won't look better unless you start getting into that $1,500 and above range. But 99% of people won't be able to tell the difference between a $300 suit and a $1,500 black/navy suit (lighter colours are probably the exception here).

      There are two issues with this option:

      1. My body shape does not really conform with an average off the rack suit. I know you've mentioned tailoring but there are components that can't really be modified without risking the structure of the suit.

      2. I am looking for a floating canvas, and for the budget that I have, I would not want to go with a fused suit. This requirement also limits my options in terms of buying off the rack.

    Montagio seems to have quite a good reputation. And have an ongoing ‘special’ of 2 custom made suits for $1200. https://www.montagio.com.au/pricing

    Bentex (and/or Queen's Clothing Alterations?) in QVB Sydney gets some decent reviews and is priced pretty reasonably too.
