Prepaid option- International calls & Roaming

I was about to move to Boost prepaid due to their generous international call inclusions but found out they don't have a great roaming option. You have to pay $5 just to activate roaming while going overseas and then pay as you go for calls & texts. Using data is not available in roaming.

Is there any third party solution available for for roaming?

Or which carrier would you suggest that provide good value international calls and roaming?

    I've never found international roaming to be of good value. I normally just get a local sim.

      I need to have roaming due to work purposes.

    ALDImobile and amaysim.

    I wanted Boost too for the full Telstra coverage but the international roaming rates are way too expensive! so I'm sticking with ALDImobile.

    I think I would get a temporary vodafail postpaid M2M SIM before I go overseas.
    Vodafone still has one of the best offer for International roaming AFAIK.

    Pretty much the normal for MOST plans……
