"I got the US plug charger as I have plenty of plug adapters and will glue it to this usb charger."

    Elegant.

    • Lol. I don't see the point in buying this if you have to put an adapter on it. Seems pointless.

      • it's a small prong adapter. it will add approx 24mm of length

  • I want to get one but I'm skeptical due to lack of up votes, which makes me question whether I'm getting a bargain.

In one of the photos it looks like sparks are flying out of the USB port

That’s how you know it’s good, high power = sparks

  • After seeing the remnants of many adapters of questionable origin, burning alive isn’t on my bucket list.

    • Qualcomm made 22 billion in revenue last year and are one of the major phone CPU manufacturers, I think you can trust them to make a competent phone charger.

      • This is made by YKZOutput! That's the big difference… If you'd read the deal.

But the comment wasn't about the charger, but adding a cheap adapter to use these in local power points!
I've had an adapter go up in smoke & sparks. Was worrying. Could have been a real fire risk. Luckily I was nearby & the power cut out.

  • Get the Japan prong and twisted them.

    • people always get very precious when someone suggests that…..

    • In my experience, occasionally the plastic cracks - which can be dangerous.

only comes in euro/chinese (round 2 prong) or US/Japan (2 straight prong).

Chinese power points use either "US style" (two straight parallel pins) for ungrounded two-wire devices, or upside down "Australian style" with two angled pins and a third straight pin below/above them for grounded three-wire devices. It's quite odd.

I'll give this a miss - the latent fire risk of any $3-including-shipping-and-plugs-into-mains-power electronics adds with the required plug adaptor to be too crappy for me.

This looks a lot like one that would use the same "18W QC" chip or whatever it is that those other chargers use which are somewhat questionable

always check the negative reviews. 8% 0-stars - users have tested that charger and it doesn't have QC. the 3 ports are all the same Amps ~ 700mA

I'd recommend cancelling your order immediately

      • oh really? ok thanks.

  • good for traveling to Bali

  • Glue…

I've seen so many chargers claiming qc, but none seem to be listed on Qualcomm's site as a verified supplier/product. Either that list is never updated, or someone is lying.

The latest list is from July, a pdf you can download. No mention of ykz, there are no matches for the model number. Even a part number partial search, ( for 023 ) shows 6 matches, four of which are power banks, and the other 2 are different products.

So, plug in my 750 dollar phone? Not keen personally.

Test using work phone… Might lead to getting a new phone… :-)

      • Depending on where you work, there might be restrictions for using non-approved chargers on work phones. Same as if you were to bring non-approved chargers to work. Not that they will know if you used it at home, but life's too short to get your balls fried by a $2 charger.

    • Indeed some chargers' QC 3.0 labels look fake (wrong font and spacing etc.) and they're too cheap to be IMO really certified by Qualcomm. But they will rapid charge, as my phone says so.

It's more the lack of mains isolation (and the risk of electrical shock) that I'm worried about.

  • when you try to buy after applying coupon it ask for the same price, coupon is useless.

    • It worked for me

Its cheap, but would rather spend 10 times more on a blitzwolf.

    • Yes! A much better charger with proven trackrecord. I have one that was advertised on OB, with a proper Australian plug.
