  • So something small like this can charge a laptop (with USB C power deliver)? Wow!

    • Potentially not. OP very wisely advises that this doesn't support 20V on the USB C port.

Was so close to the perfect charger for me!

      • Oh so I need to find one which can send out 20v? I see. Learn something new today.

        • It MAY not. To be fair a lot of laptops will charge with 15v or less, but some won't.

A lot of the good USB C docks/hubs (that I've looked at) will only do power pass through for 40W or greater (which is at 20V).

The hub issue is what's stopping me on this one.

          • @incipient: Here are a couple of good USB-C hubs that do support 100W passthrough charging.

            • +2

@O O: Yeah I have the vava. The issue is it won't do pass through if the charger is less than 40W (so it wouldn't work with this charger).

Great hub, does work well! (other than this little catch)

      • Depends on the laptop, it'll charge a Lenovo E580 at an average speed.

  • its ali - 50/50 chance it'll go to shit..
