I've got 3 Pic's PB crunchy in my pantry that I bought 1/2 price - want to swap? LOL, I'd much prefer Mavyer's Dark Roasted Crunchy PB. 100000x better IMO.
LOL, thanks for the offer off nuts at the moment.
Im with you mate. Dark roasted is fantastic
Agreed - Dark Roasted has ruined peanut butter for me.
Anyone aware of another brand making Dark Roasted PB? (Not that I have anything against Mayvers.. just curious)
@rob2018: Another Dark Roasted Crunchy fan here too!
I have tried every single one of the Mayver's, Pic's and Purely Nuts ranges and mayver's dark roasted is the winner, followed by purely nuts (crunchy or smooth).
Regular peanut butter just doesnt cut the mustard for me anymore.
I just stock up big time when they go on half price sale (at least 5 jars)
Upvote for Mayver's Dark Roasted Crunchy Peanut Butter.
I had this on some toast with Blueberry Jam for the first time recently… YUM!
Note: Make sure you stir up the jar from time to time so the oils do not get used up early and you are left with really dry peanut butter at the bottom.
Great advice!
@wakie: I really like the hemp one. No joke, I think the hemp adds to the nutty flavour.
i usually store the the jar upside down. when i want to have it i place the jar on its bottom and wait for 2 minutes then it will be ready to smash : )
@kley78: That is also a great way to sort the oils out, thanks for the tip!
And now I feel like eating Peanut Butter for some weird reason.
yes finally
Great timing. Just about to run out after the last 1/2 price sale.
Hell yes. It's been too long since a PB special.
Way too long
Way way too long, as Beqa does not even apply.
Beqa has lots of palm oil added, which is why it is so smooth compared to the others, eg Pics.
Perfect time to stock up! Get through a jar in about a week
It's time
Are you Bruce Buffer?
I am Nuts for Butter
That was terrible :-(
@kahn: Better than: I'm butter for nuts
Yum
Really didn't enjoy Mayvers, found https://shop.coles.com.au/a/a-national/product/purely-nuts-n… tastes much better.
Regular price $6.50 vs $5.0. Would pay the extra any day. What differences are there between the brands, never heard of that one before.
Tatse and, Nutz is 100% Australian in all ways, Mayvers peanuts are from 50% Australia, 50% unspecified (somewhere cheaper than Australia).
Actually true, Mayvers dark roast is my favourite I love it but it does say only 50% Aus made on the jar
Agreed. Pic's 1st. Purely Nutz 2nd. Mayvers further down.
Have a +From memory, I found Purely Nutz really oily. But I could be wrong.
Yes, that was my experience as well.
Aldi's organic peanut butter tastes much better, has less salt and is always available for a good price.
Will have to try, didn't rate Mayvers.
You mustn't of been well when you tried the Mayvers
Pretty sure these have no added salt.
0.7% salt too much for ya?
The best! Time to clear out my local
Need the cacao spread
starting to think the cacao super spread will never go half price again… anyone had success making their own spreads? $6.50 is a bit steep for the size of the jar :(
Mayer's Super Spreads are also half price
this changes everything - thanks!
I find Mayvers normal PB under rosted and their dark roast over roasted.
Still OK though.
Goldilocks?
My favourite is Sanitarium Smooth Natural Peanut Butter, no salt, perfect roast.
For me that is….
Maybe try mixing the two?
hahahaha, nice
Well done! I'm in my last bottle of Mayvers :)
I'm clicking through to a $5 price in Sydney. Is this deal particularly to location?
City stores often don't have catalogue sales.
Just bought 6 jars and the checkout lady, far from being suprised, just nodded sagely at me and with a knowing smile said "they're the best arent they" ^_^
Seems to also apply to the "Goodness to Go" pots which haven't been below $4 before this!
Mayver's Dark Roasted Goodness To Go Crunchy Peanut Butter 6 pack
Mayver's Goodness To Go Crunchy Peanut Butter 6 pack
It would be great if Pic's Peanut Butter was on sale @$2.50 , I suppose Mayver's is my second choice.
