  • Are you the official yeelight own store or just reseller? Like, so many stores in AliExpress using xiaomi name, none are belong to xiaomi

    • We are the licensed Yeelight dealer in Australia.

      • Do you mean you have exclusive rights to selling Yeelight in Australia, with a direct link to Xiaomi/Yeelight support?

Or do you mean you are a licensed dealer who sells Yeelight products, and you are in Australia?

No offence, but someone pretended to represent Xiaomi before, and got caught out on Ozbargain.

        • We have non-exclusive rights to selling Yeelight in Australia, with a direct link to Yeelight support.

@MrOcelot: Okay, so you are a licensed Yeelight dealer (not the licensed Yeelight dealer).

I like Yeelight products and have bought quite a few. But last I checked, they did not have the required electrical approvals in Australia. Some do not even have Australian plugs. If Yeelight now has formal dealers in Australia, does that mean they now have electrical approvals? I just think it is weird to have formal dealers for a product that technically is not approved.

@Make it so: Pardon me for my error of 'a' and 'the'. We are putting efforts on this part(electrical approvals) actually. Many of the product have done and received the electrical approvals in Australia already. Many more are coming, that is part of the reason our website currently don't have the full Yeelight product lines on it yet.

Slightly off-topic, apparently the Yeelight app uses around 438MB on my Android phone (!).
How many MB's does it take to turn on a light bulb?

    • Personally none for me. I only use app to setup the light blub and to enable lan control(developer mode).

How small is your storage? I think you can also use mi home app to setup which I think it smaller install size.

      • I don't think I can control colour and some other options from MI Home.

        • True, mi home is pretty slime down in terms of the colour mode.

I have my yeelight integrated with my home assistant so I never really use app for daily use.

May I suggest you reinstall it. Takes 41mb on mine.

      • Good suggestion. Will do that some time.

        • probably has a backlog of data on you, every time you've turned on your lights, changed a colour, dimmed it… man they know to much, uninstall, go off the grid!

haha I had a guy at work go "you have a robot vacuum, they'll know everything about your house" me "yeah… they'll know I have a house and that it has walls" lol

          • @camshandez: Yeah, hilarious. Of all the people they could spy on, I am most certainly not the most interesting one!

          • @camshandez: I noticed the folder "events" had loads of huge files, one as big as 134MB… Deleted them all, app still works. Sloppy coding.

          • @camshandez: Well maybe they have small camera, record what happen in the bedroom and stream straight to Chinese YouTube?

            • @CyberMurning: I think I'd notice if the robot vacuum started driving down the hallway into the bedroom haha.

              • @camshandez: Maybe you in the middle of something and not noticing it hahaha… Or when you not at home someone in china drive it from far away and make it drops multiple micro camera around your house. Kind of big brother

    • I got 42 on mine. I think you did something very wrong

    • i use dev mode and lan too, but it is a bit complicated using a phone then. i really hate the app and would like to not use it. how do you guys manage this? is there a third party app like there is for pc? (yeelight toolbox: https://forum.yeelight.com/t/topic/1833)

Delivery kinda kills it. Got the rgb for 22 a couple days ago. Good price still, but they pop up here with better deals to frequently

  • Would this bulb be compatible with the xiaomi smart gateway (2nd gen, firmware up to date)? I run the MI app on ios and Android, both up to date.

I ask the question because so far I've tried 3 different bulbs 'compatible with the xiaomi ecosystem' and none ever worked.

    • Hi, routard12. So i am sorry to tell you that the bulb is not compatible with the Xiaomi smart gateway. The Xiaomi smart gateway is for bulbs that operate base on Bluetooth protocol only. However, this bulb we have itself supports wifi connection, which enable the control of the bulb without the gateway at all as long as there is a stable wifi signal connection within the area.

    Cheaper here $26.54 includes gst
There's really no deal here, this price can be had any day of the week.

  • Any word on GU10 bulbs?

For anyone interested this is not a good deal.

  • ~$65 all up for 3 bulbs delivered. It's $10 cheaper than when I bought mine on the last deal so good deal on a local reseller.

  • What do you guys use these for? I am struggling to find how to use a multicoloured bulb on a routine basis.

Cool to warm temperature change I can understand.

    Ta.
