Credit Card Pre-Authorisation Hold Not Released after More than 2 Months (Car Rental)

Hi Oz-b, does anyone know if there's a time limit on a credit card pre-authorisation hold?

I rented a car from Budget Rent A Car in May and again in June and there are still 2 holds; one is from May and the other from June 2019.
Its a Latitude 28 Degrees Travel card, so I called them up and they said to take it up with Budget Rent A Car.
Unfortunately I'm not in Oz at the moment and won't be back until probably early September. I don't have the rental agreement numbers since I've already paid for both rentals in full and tossed the invoices. I'm thinking I'll probably have to visit Budget Rent A Car when I arrive back in Oz.

From the rental FAQ: "Final charges will be processed after completion of the rental including a card transaction fee of 1.29% (including GST) and if applicable, the unused portion of the pre-authorisation will be released by Budget. Please note the pre-authorisation may take up to 7-10 business days to be released by your bank. Budget will not be held responsible for any overdraft fees based on this policy. Please check with your bank for more information."

    Why don't u just give them a call?
    Get a prepaid calling card if u have to, I'm sure they can pull up your details based on the information you provided and sort it out (or explain)

    Have you spoken to Budget rent a car? Use Skype to call them?

    Has the amount actually been taken or is it still a hold on the card?

    Thanks guys, bought some Skype credit so will call Budget tomorrow. I did call 28degrees last week and they said speak to the merchant.
