Are Sizes Getting bigger

I have heard people say clothing sizes are bigger and no longer reflect the actual size of clothes

I have worn 36 inch pants for a long time, I have not lost weight but my pants are always falling down and they used to stay up with out a belt I got some 34s recently and they fell down but are a better fit. I feel 32 would be too small and is very tight around my legs I have tried a couple of 32s on and they are hard to get done up.

Should jeans stay up without a belt? Has anyone else noticed clothes sizes (men's pants)

    This doesn't even make sense.

    • Waist gone down
      Weight still the same
      Thigh still the same

      What gives ?

      • So the title "Are sizes getting smaller" is the opposite of the situation that OP describes.

  • Learn how to express yourself properly and get a belt. Even if your jeans are OK when you are walking they will fall down when you run.

    Depends.

Have you been wearing ladies pants and now moved to mens pants, cause the sizing is different?

Why is this even a forum topic? You literally answer your own question in among the non-coherent babble of words that makes up your forum post.

Size 36 jeans are falling down, size 34 jeans are falling down, size 32 jeans are too tight… so wear size 33 jeans and then leave us alone.

Forgive my bluntness but are we really using the OzBargain forums to discuss an individuals pant size dilemma? What is happening to us!

  • When people exercise or go on a diet sometimes their weight on the scale doesn't change but their body shape or fat distribution does. Easy way to check is measure your waist using a tape measure and keep a record of it. If your waistline has changed size over time a quick measure will confirm it.

Edit: Pants sizes can vary significantly between brands. Eg. A 32 in target doesn't always correspond to a 32 in Kmart. Weirdly enough, sometimes two of the same pants in the same brand can even have some variation due to assembly line discrepancies. Try before you buy and see what fits best. My earlier tape measure suggestion will ensure that you're not imagining any changes.

    Came here for the jokes.

They didn't rise to the occasion.

    • same - so dissapoint.

I believe there would be some correlation between the current big butt trend and global size manipulation by the fashion industrial complex. Id look into this further however am watching chemtrails at present.

Stress of finding size 33 jeans was too much. RIP.
