  The same drum kit is $595 shipped from Big Music Shop. Haven't looked at any of the others, as this was the only one that interested me.

      Not "everywhere". Guitarwise, these are good prices on Yamaha entry level Gigmaker packs, but, slash sale prices they aren't.

      They can be had most of the time from the prominant 3 reliable and trustworthy online dealers who have Yamaha dealerships. The 4th significant doesn't do anything Yamaha AU.

      Around Christmas time is a great time to buy anything entry level as the dealers compete fiercly for the consumer dollar supported by the proactive brands, e.g. Yamaha, supporting them with 'as good as you're ever gonna' get in AU' pricing on their brand hook products.

      If you're interested in the F310, have a look at the Cort AD810. Backed by Cort AU obviously, SCM are doing a stunning price promo on them ATM. Albeit without the pointless DVD and cheap tuner, $50 less than the F310 pack right now. Pick up a better tuner on AliExpress for AUD$7 shipped, or a colourful Snark clone for under $14 shipped inc GST.

      Similar class dreadnought body, and a better built and playing guitar in my and numerous others' who 'do' view and comes supplied with coated D'Addario phospher bronze strings OOTB, significant value adding right there.

        I'm after something where the strings aren't too far from the fretboard. I've read that the Yamaha is good for beginners.

        Already got a couple of old guitars here and they are hard for a beginner due to the high action
