Update: I'm on $49 cap contract, I don't have any mobile broadband service. But the system accept my mobile phone number. It probably only works for custmers who receive the email.

Tried my girlfriend's number, doesn't work. She's on voda SIM only post-paid plan, no contract.

The purpose I post this offer here is for those exisiting Vodafone customers who can probably try their number to get this offer. Also for some people who probably ignored this offer in emails.

Just received an email from vodafone. Told me that I can get a micro-SIM with 1.5G data for free.
I think this is for existing Vodafone Customers.

      I don't have Mobile Broadband with voda. I'm on $49 cap with 12 months contract.

    Hmm… I'm with Vodafone on my iPhone and iPad (both on prepaid) but the redemption didn't work… Is it only available for contract customers only?

    edit: I think this is only for mobile broadband customers (e.g. USB modem) and not iPad broadband users.

        seems like you need to receive the email to be eligible to receive this offer.

        It seems kinda weird that in the T&C "To redeem, customers must go to vodafone.com.au/ipadmicrosim", and that address sounds like it's given away in print.

        And in your email they said "We have the perfect plan to compliment your iPad" — did they know you have an iPad?

    Voda employee here. Offer is only valid if you receive it in your email, not to all existing customers. Also, you can always grab the micro sim and request a sim swap to a big sim if you want to use it in a device which isn't an iPad.

      What I'd like is to use it in my iPhone 3G that I gave my 2-year old as an "iPod touch". Don't want to use it as a phone, but the data would be handy otherwise will have to tether it to my iPhone 4.

    Ive got an infinite plan and got the email, is it saying you get the sim and free data as a once off then once the data is used you get charged or must recharge it?

    Just received the email for this, I'm guessing you need to be on a current iPhone plan for this? Don't have a 3G iPad and have no intention of picking one up either but free's free.
