  • Thanks OP as I'm in the market for a new pair of these style of boots for work.

Any thoughts/opinions on how these go stability-wise? Been having achilles/ankle/heel issues (over-pronator) and it's really hard to work out or even find suitable work shoes that are built properly for comfort/support and not just looks (which is my fear with Julius Marlows).

Edit - just noticed their 'o2 Motion' range which would seem to be more suitable… although along with a nice bump in price!

    • Do you use orthotics inserts? I don't really trust the insole on any shoes, and immediately replace them with inserts.

      • Just on this, the O² Motion styles I was speaking about in my below response have removable insoles if you wish to replace with your own orthotics.

Hi there, if ankle stability and comfort is what you're after, I would recommend O² Motion over the regular dress boots.

The O² Motion styles have the air pods in the sole that the regular boots don't have, which make them more comfortable. They're more like sports-shoe comfort with a dress shoe styling. Also the torsion stabiliser in the O² Motion styles would be better for you if stability is a requirement.

Unfortunately, because O² Motion is Julius Marlow's premium line of products, they get excluded from many of our promotions.

Sorry! They do go on sale occasionally if you keep your eye out!

        Thanks for the info.

Not to rain on your parade here (this is a bargaining site!), but if people are looking at the more expensive O2 Motion boots ($249 RRP), Mountfords has them for $229.95 less 20% off promotion for boots bringing them to around $183 :-)

Had my last pair of shoes (not boots) replaced twice under warranty. Sole is too soft. Walking only 10kmish a week on concrete paths they were visibly and significantly run down in a month and holes right through the bottom a few months later. Cost to me for heel and toe resole is $70.

Don't forget your statutory warranty when buying. Then maybe the manufacturer will produce a product that lasts.

    Imho.

  • Tony Greig would be all over this.

  • I was wearing JMs and I was getting around 6 months out of them. Stumped up the money for RMs and they're over 2 years and going strong. Do yourself a favour and spend the money on RMs.

    • RM don't seem to make brogue boots though
