Never take DiDi. Every trip Ive taken they've quoted one price for trip and charged me 20% or more extra. Not sure if they under-quote to begin or they on purpose take longer route to charge u more .. Uber is pretty much all the time spot on every trip

Hey Gavman, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'm sorry to hear about your previous experiences, they are not the kind of rider experiences DiDi hopes to provide our passenger community! I can assure you that 95% of our trips are within a $2 variation from estimated trip fare to actual trip fare. These fare differences are usually related to traffic conditions that may affect your overall trip duration and distance. If you believe that a trip fare is incorrect, you can always report this issue through your DiDi-Rider app.

We are always trying our best to improve the rider experience and our systems that help facilitate trips. You can be sure to look forward to changes and developments that will provide you with updated fare pricing.

For further inquiries or to follow up on your concern, you can contact our 24/7 customer support team through [email protected]

"These fare differences are usually related to traffic conditions that may affect your overall trip duration and distance"..that might be true but in this case the driver took a strange route with more traffic and drove an extra 2km detour. Google maps should be able to advise best route and if here is traffic be able to estimate the duration and hence cost upfront.. Uber does this very well.

Ive taken Uber 100s over time and i can say 99% of the time i pay what is quoted.

Obviously other have the same experience.. its now a saturated market so u might want to get on top of this if you want to bite a large chuck of the market or wither away in the background.

        • Hi Gavman,

Thanks for sharing more details about your situation. It helps us in our efforts to continue improving our systems, to further improve the experience for our passenger community.

If your final fare was higher than what was displayed during the estimation before requesting the trip, and the reasons for the fare being higher are as you described, I encourage you to use the Help section in the DiDi-Rider app to report your concern. Without reporting your concern, it cannot be escalated for further review or resolved.

Upfront pricing while providing a fare before you request, is still subject to the actual duration and distance of the trip, so that it is a fair and accurate experience for both passenger and driver.

Please reach out to DiDi Customer Support for further queries or if you would like to have your fare reviewed.

I have found this as well.

On a couple of occasions, the driver missed the turn and my bill was much higher.

Didi are often more expensive for me than Ola as well when I check.

  • Stackable with the welcome vouchers?

    • Welcome vouchers aren't stackable at all.

    • Thanks for your question!
If you are a new user, upon completing your sign up as a Rider, you will automatically have the welcome pack applied to your account. Please make sure location services are enabled for this to be a success.
Be sure to enter a referral code as well, as that will offer you a further 2x$10 vouchers.

While you are able to add multiple vouchers to your DiDi-Rider account, only 1 voucher can be redeemed on a trip. The DiDi-Rider app will automatically redeem the highest value voucher for your trip.

      • Thanks for the quick reply. Just tried using the code and it's saying "Invalid Promotion Code"

        • Make sure you have location turned on so the App can know that you are based in Melbourne, then claim it.
          Hurry, stock is running out!

          • @douglastoy: Thanks! Worked well, paid 30cents cheaper than what I was quoted too!

            • @edumacation: Hey edumacation!
Thanks for your patience and glad to see that the voucher was successfully added!
We hope you continue to enjoy affordable and convenient rides through the DiDi-Rider app!

  • The other day when it was raining I took a DiDi 500m down the road from my work to the train station using the free credit. I didn't pay a cent, the driver got $10 for a minute of work and we both had a funny story to tell.

    • Hey there! Thanks for using DiDi and glad we could help you during the wet weather!

  • It says invalid coupon

    • Hello! This voucher can only be added between the offer times of 4PM to 5:59PM (AEST) on 18/7/19 and 19/7/19.
Full Terms and Conditions for this voucher can be found here.

Please try again after 4PM (AEST) today or tomorrow!

  • I've been having bug issues. I open the app and see there are cars around and when I book it to go somewhere, all the cars disappear and the wait time automatically goes to 5 mins. I've lost my two coupons because I couldn't book anything

    • Have you confirmed your email address? I had the same issue until I confirmed my email.

      • No I haven't but I never had a problem using DiDi till then.
Whats more annoying was I lost my two $10 vouchers

        • Hello!
