Agreed. I can never understand why anyone buys non-supermarket brands for staples like this or flour, sugar etc. I mean some people must but I can’t imagine anyone being able to taste the difference.
You can def taste the difference between brands. The woolworth macro ones are smoother, while home brand ones are a bit less homogeneous.
they arent quick oats tho
You can get Both (BTW just like with Uncle Tobys)
regular
https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/321220/woo…
or
Quick Oats
https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/321222/woo…Just look at the lower shelves thats where they usually reside
IMHO
Regular tastes better when cooked, just you need to cook them more
Enjoy the savings…😀
Ok guess your against uncle Toby's but there are alot that arent
@asa79: No I just think oats are oats, also I didnt down vote the deal, with the usual "cheaper Elsewhere".
I was just pointing out its cheaper if you dont want a fancy box.
It is a bargain site and just sharing that.
Nothing against you or Toby 😀 (or the others that like this deal which I agree is far better than paying full price for a box)
And the tastes better comment was in relation to regular vs quick Oats - applies to both Uncle Toby and Generic (as they are the same)
Completely agree! Don’t know why anyone would buy branded staples like this.
Is Aldi really 18c? I thought it was $1.08/750g which brings it just over 14c/100g.
Stand corrected - thank you
Well if you dont like uncle toby oats and prefer different ones, then this deal is not for you
For the Traditionalists - UT Traditional Oats also $3
I now just buy the less processed (Homebrand) oats after nutritionist told me to change from Quick Oats.Right..so I just need to buy one of these and then top it up with a homebrand product to fool the missus. Which one looks the closest (ALDI,woolies etc)?
Pretty sure the Goldenvale (Aldi) Rolled/Quick Oats are like $1 for a 1kg bag or thereabouts.
So you not comparing like for like tho
That depends on your pov.
Oats is Oats
For Yummie porridge just add water, pinch of salt, heat, serve with milk and chopped fruit (+sugar for taste). Wheatgerm optional
Coles and Woolies house brands cost no more than 20c per 100g Aldi 18c
Then meditate on what to spend the $1 saved
