    • +1

Many people have been weighing this up.

  • Thanks , this is really cheap.

  • Cheers! Been looking out for these scales for a while.

    • +3

I owned one of the older model for more then 2 years, will totally recommend you to get it.

      • +4

Ditto, I've had one (with withings branding, now Nokia) for about 4 years. They used to be over $200 at officeworks.

Great scale. I don't like the numbers it's showing me at the moment, however, thats no fault of the scale!

        • I've had a Withings scale for appx 5 years. The first one had bluetooth connectivity issues after a month but was replaced easily. The second stopped working after 2 years so I got another one. I really like that the software Withings/Nokia use to display history on the app and keeps me motivated to keep my weight down. Love the automatic uploading readings to the cloud, and recognising different users. I reckon this is a bargain, as my first Withings scale was ~$250.

        • Withings bought it all back from Nokia recently so they’ll be rebranding again soon 🤦‍♂️

      • Me too. I was skeptical even after I'd bought it, but using it, I've found it's life changing.

        • +3

Agreed. It doesn’t seem important now but how closely do people manually track their weight? They don’t. But step on this regularly then login online and there’s 3-4-5 years of data right there. Invaluable.

  • How does this compare to the Renpho smart scales, like this one (https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B077RXM292) which is selling for $23.95 right now? Is one more accurate compared to the other?

    • +6

Nokia scale is wifi, it uploads your stats to the cloud automatically. Phone doesn't need to be on. Well worth paying the premium for this feature and the superior software.

      • +2

Just brought one because of this feature alone, thanks!

      • And it even integrates directly with MyFitnessPal (and Apple Health, if you're on iOS), which makes weight tracking truly seamless

    • ok i have recently bought the renpho one and would say the fat % is completely wrong as i am currently sitting at 15.9% on the renpho but 8.8 on a proper inbody 570 scan which are very accurate.

      • <10% fat? how did you get that low?

Renpho, is good for 'trends' rather than absolutes. Nokia wouldn't be much better if you want true accuracy as it measures those statistics in the same way. (Resistance through the soles of your feet)

  • Does this work if I have a white body?

    • +1

Maybe after a cheap tan job?

  • is it a Nokia white body?

  • +1

Using wifi on the plane now, have no need for this scale but…ordered! Thanks ozbargain

    • Will you weigh less in the plane?

      • +1

Yes, further from Earth means less gravity

  • Is Amazon Prime worth it?
    Can you cancel anytime?

    • Usually worth it during sale periods like Prime Day and Christmas

      Yes

    • Sign up for the trial. You can cancel it right away and you will still have the benefits until the trial period is over.

I have used the trial for a few days, I'm leaning more towards subscribing for 12 months.

      • +4

Plus there's a few good shows on prime video

        • Thanks bought it for $79
I might also keep Amazon prime

      Your mamma so….

  • Are these one of the better BMI scales?
    Best value for money?

  • +1
  • +1

    Bugger it, bought one anyway.

  • Are the body composition measurements accurate with this?

    • +3

Body fat measurements with scales are extremely inaccurate. The only place it has some value would be to see the general trend of up down or even over time

  • Fantastic set of scales. I paid nearly double from Costco. Great price. The app is really good, also.

  • Officeworks price beat? Delivery might be an issue.

I'm looking to get a basic non-smart scale. Would anyone please be able to recommend me any that are of good quality and aren't too expensive? Does brand even matter if it's not a smart scale?

    Cheers

    • +1

Any basic scale from somewhere like K-Mart will do the job just fine. The better the quality the more it will cost, generally.

  • Perfect timing, great deal! Thanks!

  • Are we getting the Nokia version or the Whithings version. Kinda confusing as title and picture are both different.

  • Can these act as a regular "dumb" scale as well?

  • -1

Is this better than a Fitbit aria? That pos would have issues just connecting to the wifi.

  • +1

Done a fair bit of research on these… and as much as I want to buy them, many user reviews are pretty scathing on their inaccurate measurements.

If you only want these for strictly the weight aspect, and the fact that they look good, they’re probably for you (although, many other much cheaper alternatives take care of these 2 aspects).

When it comes to the main things that they’re pushing with this product - BMI, muscle/bone density, water retention etc - these figures change wildly, sometimes within 10 minutes.

  • Really good deal esp considering Fitbit Aria 2 (similar product) cost $199 and shows less details on LED screen.

    • Yeah but only a sucker would pay $199 for an Aria.

      • millions of Aria scales were sold. I guess there's a lot of suckers :p

        • Have you seen the democratically elected leaders around the world? I'm not surprised.

  • $103.37 now?

  • +3

$103 now, but that's still 40% less than the cheapest price in Australia.

    • How is it? Was it worth $98 from HN?
HN cancelled my order in that deal.

      • Definitely worth it for build quality and functionality.

  • damn i missed :( was needing a new pair of scales

  • anyone have wifi issues with this? keeps saying incorrect pass. nevermind switched to my other wifi network and it worked, something about only supporting wifi channel 7

  • Just received mine

  • Got it and its branded Whitings

  • Got mine too. Its got the Nokia box. Probably the last chance to get a Nokia scale.

    • +1

Nokia box but Whitings scale inside.

      • Ah yeah you're right :(

  • Received mine on Monday. Very quick delivery from US.

  • Great purchase, arrived quick, love it. Hung on the Bluetooth connect to my phone the first time but all good the second. Really enjoying it, app is good, also uploads to Apple Health.

  • How's everyone finding the scale? I find it gets a bit confused between different people if weight is very similar and there doesn't seem to be an option to pre-select a person first. Compared it to my 15yr old Tanita scale and they were both spot on. I"m actually surprised my Tanita has held up so well, considering its been handled quite roughly.
