Great deal if youre looking for a set of Bluetooth trackers. Can have them all for yourself or share them with fam and friends. I use this for my keys, wallet and backpack and frequently find it useful to find my keys in my apartment. Can also be used to find your phone if youre like me and frequently misplace it in your house or bag.
Works with alexa and google home so you can command them to find your items ie 'hey google, ask tile to fin my phone/keys' and it will ring either.

Again, very useful for those that misplace their personal items in the house a lot.

JB hi-fi are currently seeling a 2 pack of these for $99

Literally in the description. Fourth line. Stop being lazy.

Battery life: Replaceable CR2032 battery is guaranteed for one year from activation. You can easily replace it yourself

    • +2

      I believe these take a CR2032 battery

  • +12

Or a 2 pack for $56.72 if you're after less..

    • +6

Or for those with young kids, do what I did and buy a 2 pack of the older Tile Style/Sport for $65:

      https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B073QNZPMR/ref=ppx_yo_d…

Stops kids swallowing the button/watch battery in the user replaceable models, which is a concern considering kids love playing with keys and it looks fairly easy to replace the battery.

      • +1

        Thanks for this

      • The real MVP is always in the comments ;)

Ps $57.17 for combo mentioned above.

    • +1

cheers. not sure if I'll get good use out of these so just bought a 2 pack of Tile Pro to try out.

    • Ordered a two pack, thanks!

  • +2

Add to kids school bags or phones etc for presence detection in Home Assistant for zones

    • And then wait till kids get home or school bag near the phone? :)

      • Google mini can process bluetooth into home assistant as presence detection for different rooms

      • +2

        Activate Community Find:
If your Tile Mate is faraway, let other Tile community members help. The Tile app running on their phones can send location updates to your app

        • Assume both bobz79 and asa79 kids goes to same school 😆

These don't work with Alexa or Google Assistant in Australia. The Tile app is not available in Australia's store.

    • +1

Downloaded just fine on my iOS - here's the link to AU App Store https://apps.apple.com/au/app/tile-find-lost-keys-phone/id66…

      • -2

the iOS app to set up the tile on iPhone is available but not Alexa or Google Assistant in Australia… so I think OP may need to amend the description as this is not work with Alexa or Google assistant if you are using an Australian account. I would like to be proven wrong so I can use it with either my Google Assistant or Alexa but so far I can only activate it from my iPhone.

    • +1

And Alexa skill store in Australia has Tile too https://skills-store.amazon.com/deeplink/dp/B073PKWX11?devic…

So I think you're wrong on both counts? Maybe you're working on old data..

      • -1

Your link is to the US store not Aussie one.. it is not available in Australia

        • +1

Perhaps the link is wrong but on the phone it absolutely appears to be there here in Australia.

Use Amazon Alexa app on iOS, go into Skills and Games, search for Tile and it'll come up.

    • +1

I don't know about Alexa, but Google Assistant works. I tested it just now.

      • on Google mini or phone?

        • On a Google Home Mini.

          • @evanjd: connected to Australia or US.. how did you set yours up? can you please share I would like to set mine up too.

      • Thanks got it working with Google..

    • Well that's a load of shit. I've got the Tile app on my phone right now direct from Play Store.

      • I have Google mini and that's what is not working for me. I also have an Amazon echo with an Australian account and it is not available as a skill on Amazon Australia.

  • I just use Find my Google Device and it puts the phone on ring loudest volume.

    • +16

"Hey Google, ring my keys" probably doesn't work unless you attach a phone to your keys and call it "keys" though.

  • Can it be used outside the home?

    • +4

Yes. Anywhere there is a bluetooth connection to someone else's phone who is also running the Tile app. I once lost the a Tile while on holidays. When I realised, I looked into the Tile app and searched for it. Someone was nearby and provided the location. Unfortunately, we were a couple of hundred kms from the reported location and wasn't worth retrieving. I only lost the Tile as it detached from my keyring so there was nothing valuable attached to the Tile.

  • Thanks OP, got the 2 pack.

  • Great price, I picked this pack up a few weeks ago and for someone who tends to leave keys lying around the house they are great.

  • +1

anyone else confirm whether they work on alexa in Australia? seems to be arguments both ways.

    • +2

do a search for the skill in the Australian store..not available there.

      • +1

You've probably got your language settings wrong. Set it to English (US) and it'll play.

        • tried changing language to English US from Australia but no luck.

    • open up your iOS Amazon Alexa app, click Skills and Games, search for Tile, and there it is.

    • +1

I can confirm that there is no tile skill on the android alexa app in Australia. I've emailed tile support in the past (6 months ago) and the reply was that there is no plan to make it available in Australia

      • You're right, not on Alexa app. It's pretty rubbish how we get less features here, I would have bought a pair of these otherwise. And a fire stick if it supported voice commands in Australia.

  • +2

The non-Pro version is cheaper at $93.19

Batteries not replaceable. You'll be behind after the first year.

      • Pictures show the battery compartment.

        In the Technical details section:
Whats in the box Bluetooth-enabled Tile with replaceable battery x 4

      • Battery is replaceable… Scroll down to technical details..

    • +4

I think the largest difference is that the Pro allegedly has twice the BT radius as the non-Pro.

  • been eyeing for something like this, got the 4 pack…thanks

  • +2

Have used these for a while, and always buy direct from Tile at around half of JB's price here.

Can get it direct from https://www.thetileapp.com/en-us/summer-flash-sale (plus other combos)

US$76 US delivered, so around AU$108 depending on the exchange rate you get (if you don't have Amazon Prime)

    • Thanks Ugly, I tried, however it looks like they are adding GST on top, so total becomes $83.60

    • For me it's $83.60 US ($70 for 4 pro Tiles, $6 shipping to AU, $7.60 GST) ~ 118 AUD, just $10 more than Amazon deal ($2.5 per Tile), so it's not really a great deal.

  • Hi, with the android versions do you need to enable\use google assistant?
I dont want to use the google assistant wondering if you can just use the app itself?

    • No, you don't need to enable Google Assistant to use the Tile app.

  • Gooood to place them on your dog if they get lost..

    • +5

place them on before they get lost and will be more effective ;)

  • +1

i have had 2 of these. 2 of the miniture tiles. and one of the of the original.
all broke within a few months. one came in a pack of 4 and 2 out of the 4 didnt work straight out of the box.
i gifted some out to people and theirs all broke within a few weeks/months also.
good concept but they stop working pretty easily.

    • +1

I bought 4 pack of Tile Mate 2018 in December, none of them broke yet. Tile trackers are far from flawless, but I just don't know of a better product in this category.

    • I have 16 of them, all good. Some of them are the non-replaceable battery ones which are still working after almost 2 years.

      • +2

My non-replaceable one's finally died after a year and a half. The speakers were getting really unreliable.

I pulled one apart last night. Razor blade to remove the glue holding the battery, New 2032 battery in its place with a bit of thin double sided tape to hold it. I also noticed the speakers were unreliable because the speaker is attached to the case and just works with pressure, must have loosened up inside the case over time. I put a small piece of bluetac on the far side of the case to increase the pressure behind the speaker and it works perfectly now.

I had to glue it back together though as I couldn't see another way to reseal it and I think my glue was stronger than the original so I'm not sure a second round will work.

        • I was thinking of opening them apart and replacing the batteries myself like you did, was it that hard to do?

  • +1
  • what if i always lose my phone? do you need phone to track?

    • If you've got a smart home device, you can ask it to ring your phone!

      • got the google mini from spotify, but not my thing to shout at device to do something..not yet at least

        • I once overheard my neighbour out in the backyard under her pergola (probably about to settle into her coffee) say "Ok Google, play spotify". Silence. She repeated it a few times, each time a little louder and a little more annoyed. Then she changed to "OK Google, play music". Silence… Anyway, I had a chuckle and went on with my day.

        • All three models of the Tile also have a function that allows you to double press the Tile to ring your phone.

    • Can be tracked via the tile website, not just on your phone

      • Might as well just use "find my device" ..

  • +2

It will be interesting if Apple releases a similar product soon to launch with iOS13 leveraging their "find my" development.

I think tile is great but you can't beat leveraging almost every Apple product in the wild.

    Food for thought.

iTrack? $999 for base station*? $9.99/month? The disciples will hail it as a miracle innovation and line up around the block to get one! /end sarcasm

      *iStand not included

      • Even the idea of an Apple product that doesn't exist can get people going it seems.

  • It went down in price after the sale to $105.30?????

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07GLXZT83/ref=ppx_yo_d…

  • What's the shopback cash back rate on this? I got something like 4% which is a bit less than I was expecting

  • Just received my Tile Pro 2 pack. Seems to do what it's supposed to. Wondering now if Tile Premium service is worth the ~$3/month subscription fee. Anyone got it?

I think the concerns raised above about kids and button batteries are a little unfounded. The cover isn't easy to get off and even if a kid managed to do so they have to get a paperclip in the pop the battery out. I gave it a good few taps on the desk with cover off and battery didn't budge.

CR2032 batteries are also big enough that it's fairly unlikely very a kid could swallow. At least not without obvious distress at the blockage in their throat (assuming the reaction is like when my 3yo swallowed a 10c coin recently. It only made it part way before being thrown up again.)

    • "Wondering now if Tile Premium service is worth the ~$3/month subscription fee."

Just do the free 30 day trial and see for yourself. I can't see anything it does that I'd want, personally.

  • Does anyone know how to use the crowd-sourced location finding feature in Tile Pro? It's nowhere on the website or in the app that I can see.

The online chat support is based on US times.

[EDIT] Had a closer look. Info is in the FAQ under: "Community Find."
