Pasta Machine with Detachable Blades $9.99, Pizza Stone 3pc set $7.99 at Aldi from 16 June

390
  • Heavy duty construction Pasta Machine with chrome plated finish
  • Includes bench clamp

We purchased this last time Aldi had it on sale (about 6 months ago) and have used it quite a few times to produce great home made pasta. The kids love it and really enjoy using it. I think it's fantastic value for $10 especially as every other one I have seen is at least $60!

Also got the Pizza Stone 3pc set for $7.99 and it's had a lot of use http://www.aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_18119.htm
Set Includes: 33cm pizza stone, chrome rack & stainless steel pizza rocker
The natural clay base ensures even heat distribution for a delicious crispy crust

  • Very good deal, these can be quite expensive

  • Got the pizza stone set, looking forward to using it. :)

I got the pasta machine and ravioli set. Just finished making pasta wit it even :P So I can confirm it works :D
Also you can buy 00 flower from Woolworths for the pasta.

  • good price, but for those really lazy people they have an electric version, but a lot more expensive, i think it was $99

  • Can you purchase online from Aldi or do you have to live in a state with a store?

    • Sorry, only in store and usually they are limited and the good ones sell out fast!

Tip for the early birds: go on Wed night or first thing Thu morning.

I assumed everyone knew where Aldi stores are/are not located, as they've been around for a few years and are regulary featured on here.

Not sure if that deserves a neg as it is a good deal.

You might want to read the rules here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines

Thats ridiculous, it would only be misleading if it said "nation-wide", which it doesn't. The title says it is at Aldi, theres nothing inaccurate or misleading about that.

The name power penguin should of warned us of his blatant stupidity

  • I just went back and returned an item from aldi. I got a stand mixer and it's useless. The limitations of this product makes me laugh. U can only operate the machine for 5 mins after which you need to let it cool down. Then you can operate for another 5 mins after which you need to give it a half an hour break. Whats the point of having a machine.

Nonetheless i do purchase some special buy items from Aldi and they are good.

    • At least they take it back without twisting and turning. Returned a coffee machine to Aldi before, no problem. Tried to return pasta stir in sauce due to a recall at one of the majors, it's not that easy.

Woohoo, I spotted the past machine last week.. rocked up today to grab one. Great deal. As good as the ones for $40 from Robin's Kitchen

  • Great deal.
Paid for 20 bucks a couple years back

  • Good deal. One thing to check before you go to pay for it, is that the handle fits snuggly in the holes. I got one last time and it was a bit loose in the main roller. Therefore after you turn it a bit, it gets wedged in there and I need a hammer to get it out. Couldn't exchange last time since they sold out so I lived with it and picked up another one today since it's so cheap.

  • anyone know the good electric pizza ones
is the $99 cheap or can you find cheaper online?

    • +1

Do you mean electric pasta maker? Electric pizza sounds a bit… shocking.

      • I think they mean something like this

  • Guys, watch out not to be poisoned by heavy metal. Think about it, 3kg metal, just the material worths that money. Don't trust those cheap made-in-china, they end up in landfill soon.

    • Just about everything is made in china these days!:)

      • +2

What I meant is don't buy those "cheap" made-in-china. There are a lot of good things from china, but they comes with reasonable price.
I deliberately checked this item today in Aldi. I nearly laughed out on seeing this crap. Not sure why some guys here still commented it as "good" after they bought it. The build is incredibly bad: the edges are so sharp that I nearly got cut to bleeding; the roller is not parallel; the crank holes are rusted in the sample; it smells like I stay close to bicycle gear assembly - god knows what lubricant they have put into this junk. Anyway, for those who got this machine and still smug, I can only say good luck to you.

Missed out on the pizza set last round when it was 9.99, Im now the happiest person in the world XD

      lol you're easily pleased

  • I got the milk frother, works pretty well.

  • How is the electric pasta maker, is it worth the extra over the manual one (is it reliable, will it break down?)? Thanks

  • Can someone explain what the pizza stone/rack is for exactly?

Last time I made a pizza I used a tray with holes in for pizza, how would this be better?

    • +2

It's to simulate a stone base to distribute the heat better. Like a stone oven I guess. BTW, works not just for pizza but for other baking.

      • +2

        thanks I'll get one then.

If its not useful it will make me look pro for $8! :)

        • +2

You can also use it to knock out any intruders!

lol i just love ozbargain sometimes. the random comments make my day

  • Just back from Aldi richmond (vic), I'm suprised the $99 electric pasta machine are all gone! Too many lazy ass here in melbourne! ….. well, I guess I wouldn't say that if I have 9 childrens telling me they're hungry :P

There are still 4-5 $9.9 ones there.

    Heaps of pizza stone set.

  • BTW, anyone can tell how to prepare/clean a new pasta machine? :)

    • -1

We just gave it a really good clean in the sink with hot water and mild washing detergent while turning the winder, then gave it a good rinse out.

      • +2

DO NOT USE WATER AT ALL!!! IT WILL RUIN IT!

        • Why? We have without any problem, but did make sure we dried it very well. What other way can you get it all clean?

      • Because it will rust and the pasta dough will get stuck, the instructions for ANY pasta machine says not to use water at all, you have just ruined it. Either using a cloth or feeding pasta through it to get rid of the grease which of course will have to be chucked out.

        • OK Thanks!

    • +2
  • Yeh the instruction said water no no :p

    thx gamgo~

  • I picked one of these up a while back from aldi for 20bux. It works okay, but its a far from a serious pasta maker… Worth the 10bucks though. You get what you pay for.

  • Aldi Manly Wharf had about a dozen pizza stone sets this afternoon if anybody around there is looking for one.
