Peanut butter is the same price as Coles/Woolies even with the prime day deal.

    • Usually these deals are same Coles/woolies.. advantage really is the free delivery

Thanks I bought the 2kg Bega peanut butter. I have never seen it before. My daughter uses a lot of peanut butter. 780 grams usually doesn't go far.

        • +2

4x the 500g is heaps cheaper than the 2kg one unless I’m missing something.

        • Costco has 1.5KG for around $8

Great price for vegemite, won't get anywhere near that cheap at the supermarkets.

this shit expires in a month (says K21AUG19D 21:46) unless i'm reading it backwards?

is that normal? how do you finish this shit in a month

      • +1

Mine is coming today, I'll have a look and compare it to another jar I have here and let you know. I might be asking for a refund if that's the case.

Edit: You are reading it correctly, best before 21 Aug 2019. It will be fine to use after that but Amazon should have marked close to date items.

        • +1

poor form by amazon definitely should have been marked as short expiry

  • Is this a better product then the recent myer Ebay deal for the XL version?

    • Larger, so better if you want to do larger amounts, for bigger families.

We currently have the XL as well, it does the job, my folks have the XXL and its just that much extra space in there

Mate does this cook any different to digital version?

        • Nope, you have a knob for temp and a one for timer. I not really sure now i think about it, what the lcd gives extra, maybe just that nice countdown screen

  • The 1.4Kg one is gone.

  • How is turbo star different to normal air fryer?

  • This one is slightly more expensive and smaller but do you think it would be better for a single guy especially as it looks to have a grill plate that can be used for meat and salmon etc https://www.amazon.com.au/Philips-Airfryer-TurboStar-HD9643-…

    • If you’re new to air frying, I’d recommend starting with a ‘cheapie’ model like K-Marts, which is $69.99, and just buying one of the accessories packs on eBay for about $30. It takes up more bench space than the dearer ones but does everything they do and for less than half the price. There are also a few FB pages with recipes and tips specific to that device. I’ve used the Phillips but I’d take the KMart one over it any day.

      • Thanks for the tip. Wish I had read it earlier as I jumped and bought the smaller Phillips version when I saw that the bigger one was no longer available. Just out of curiosity, why would you take the kmart one over the Philips? My sister said to get the kmart version as well but I just presumed the Phillips version would have better technology and build quality.

I've got the smaller one, and upgraded to this XXL due to a growing family.

Not sure how it compares to the K-MART one but I've loved the Philips. Was the most used appliance in our household so hope you'll love it as much as I did.

        • I only used the Phillips Daily model but found it smaller, noisier and less powerful than the Anko. It couldn’t fit a whole chook or a piece of pork and I had to turn food constantly for even cooking. Reviews on Canstar rate the KMart model very high for cleaning and value, but the other Phillips models are very highly rated in customer satisfaction so I’m sure you won’t regret your purchase!

Anyone get the vegemite and find that it has a short "expiry"? Mine has August 2019. Doesn't really matter as doubt the product will deteriorate, just curious.

    • Yep same here that was a bit dodgy from Amazon should have stated that. Also the peanut butter I received best before Oct.

      • I'll contact them tomorrow and make a complaint about it.
