  • How does this perform for 1440p?

    • At 60 FPS? Eh, it's ok. For lighter-weight competitive games, you should get 120+ with tweaks, similar to a 1060.

Consider a GTX 1660 Ti, then just move onto the RTX series or Navi if you need higher performance. 2060 Super is probably a good budget sweet spot alongside the 5700 and 5700XT, depending on whether or not you're craving raytracing support (ReShade is getting support, so you can hook it into virtually any game, plus all the game engines and major developers are working on title support).

Yeah I was thinking of getting the 5700 XT when AIB come out next month, but somewhat wanted to wait a bit longer and see what's the comparable consumer product to what's going to be in the next gen consoles. I mean, i've waited this long for Navi, I can wait some more…as long as my current 480 doesn't die on me.

Worth going for this or RTX 2060/GTX 1660(ti) cards?

    • Depends what performance you need, those are better performers, they'll just cost more.

  • It's better than 1060 for sure but much worse than 1070. The only concern to some people who has small pc case and power supploy is this card's power consumption, which is higher than 1060. It's still a good card to those who want to play some 3A games in 1080p at max/ultra settings.

Great price for an RX590 (I spent $300 on an RX580 just a week ago), however beware that the cooling on the MSI Armor cards is notoriously poor (which I why I ended up going with a Sapphire).

The Nitro+ is considered the best cards for the RX5x0 range

Edit: oops was supposed to reply to the above comment

    • thats good to hear; i just need something that is good enough to play dota 2 on 1440p and not break the bank. also hoping to get 2-3 years out of this card.

      • That'll be plenty. I use a RX570, and can run Dota2 at 1440p at basically maxed out.

  • Sorry to be a bit off topic, but can a RX 580 laptop runs fine with a 144hz monitor?

  • Just bought RX 580 on Amazon for $311 like 2 weeks ago !!! Old card had died though wasnt much choice

To make you feel better, I bought it on Friday….

  • Almost same price as 1060..
