  • Insider info? Just curious.

Hardly anything worth buying now (that I need). The obvious things like USB sticks are out of stock.

    • i'm patiently waiting for some awesome deals…

  • hahaa well at least their shipping is on the top unlike logitechshop. i am not complaining about logitechshop's shipping, but i only put in orders after seeing so many ppl said their get their items overnight or within 3 days after purchase. My orders on logitechshop quickest was within 1 week and longest is 3 days after the promised period.

great to see the difference! Go staples!

    • In all fairness, LTS is a much smaller outfit…Staples is a big international.

During those big sales, Eddie & his cronies must've been going hell for leather! ;)

  • I placed an order using the $20 voucher.

    Nothing arrived.

Send email asking status 2 weeks ago.

Received a reply today telling me they are not honouring the order and now my order has disappeared from my account.

Not happy, & won't be buying from them again.

    • did they pay you back for shipping?

    • Did you order one of those $4 USB drives though?

  • So apparently they received 7000 orders in one day using those $20 vouchers

Well, it could have been an excellent marketing opportunity…

7,000 x new, signed up customers

But most of them are disappointed and angry.

What do they say… each customer will tell 10 friends?\

    • FWIW I told no one else :P

    • I get your point entirely (and sympathise for your situation esp since you were so early in ordering)
BUT they weren't 7000 new customer-we have a person (below) who ordered made 18 orders between six people.

You yourself were a return customer. They were trying to woo new customers and I think those were the people who had the best chances of getting the deal
And you weren't the only cases (dare I say even part of a majority)

(of course I can never be sure but maybe accounts are unique in terms of postal address and not emails)

Why I say this-I had a friend (it wasn't me) who called up for a voucher . He never actually made an order the first time and gave them a completely bogus email. They obviously did not have it on record.
They told him that they didn't have a voucher for him and that they didn't create codes for those with multiple email addresses attached to the same postal address.
He didn't query further cos he was making up the address anyways in an attempt to make conversation and get a generic voucher code

Staples: Should have had a minimum spend (I am glad that they didn't and hope they don't put one in)
Not had three codes running concurrently

      PS: I told two people

EDIT: Quick totally unrelated question-how do I see new posts on a multipage thread/deal. I check against my name and look at the deals I have commented on-it usually tells me the number of new posts but whenever I click on the link, it takes me to the first page. Sometimes I want to only see the new posts. I have clicked on the thread link, the little bubble for new posts, the last poster's name and the little symbol next to the last posters name—>they always take me to the front page of the deal.
How do I effectively navigate this and get to the new posts?

  • +1

I placed three orders for myself and three each for five friends/family, received all orders promptly except one that took four business days as opposed to one or two and apart from poor packaging I had no problems. I love staples as a result. For every bad experience there are probably many more good ones. Sorry to all those who had a bad experience.

So it was YOU that took all the USB sticks, huh?

      Hmmm - that was (1+5) x 3 = 18 orders x 5 sticks = NINETY :-D ROFL

+1 to this, even GROUP BUY DEALS

Sorry to all those who had a bad experience.

      haha lol!

      • I was only cranky because my orders went in very early on the first day, yet people who ordered like 12 hours or even a day later got their stuff and I missed out. :-(

On reflection I think my error was that I used 2 existing accounts that have bought on other loss-leader Staples deals. So, they knew I was not a new customer…. I should have made a few new IDs.

  • I was too late to that USB stick deal but I did get some of the other USB sticks.

  • -1

7000 in one day, that 7000x20 profit they miss out on..

    7000 x 20 = 70000 x 2 = $140000?

    • I don't know why you're even simplifying that equation further…
However it wouldn't be profit it would be revenue.
Most likely they would make a loss on those sales.

  • 3 orders
    had one issue
    rang up
    they solved it
    was very nice about it
    i'm happy

if the prices were cheaper i would use them

  • Am I missing something or is the deal not a freebie as listed? You have to pay for shipping which for some items works out about the same as stores when buying tea/drinks etc

    • the 3 codes posted gave you a $20 off voucher that had to be spent on purchases alone with postage being $5.50 for metro areas and $11 for regional areas that they delivered to. If you didnt spend the full $20 you lost that credit and couldnt use it for postage so its not a freebie. The good thing about the deal was that there was no minimum spend so you could stop at $20.99 if you wanted to
