A word about Dell's Customer Service:
Bought my XPS M1530 back in Feb 2008. Worked perfectly well until it decided to die just last week June 2011. I had got the 3 year upgraded warranty at the time of purchase.
Well the laptop died 3 months after warranty expiry. Rang Dell up. No questions asked, replaced the display screen, motherboard, touchpad, outer bezel and speakers.
First thing they told me on the phone was, don't worry about warranty we'll do it. Was extremely pleased to hear that.
Will definitely purchase Dell again.
Just did a test purchase on the XPS 15. Got a 1980x1080 display, 3 year warranty for $1400 with MoneyBackco giving about 10%? Seems like a good purchase.
Is it cheaper than the 30% off they had about 2-3 weeks back though?

I believe the M1530 and the M1330 suffered from a NVidia graphics fault, thus Dell seem to be generous with the support on these models even if they are outside warranty.
That's good to hear… I bought my Studio 15 Core i7 beast of a laptop for $1150 last year (which was an excellent price then) which I have just upgraded with a 60gb SSD and 8gb RAM and I couldn't be happier.
Dell offer some very good deals.
I hear SO many stories of people getting free computers from DELL because they are still in warranty/just out of warranty. New Alienware MX17 because a friend's 9400 died a few weeks before expiry. A New Alienware desktop for the same reason. My Dell died a few months after warranty expired and I didn't get anything :(
Oh well. Got a G73 instead and it's great :)
There is an article somewhere that said if there is a fault with the M1330 or M1530, and it's related to the nVidia issue, that there is an extra year of warranty for that issue.
Perhaps if you were 3 months over the 4th year of warranty, they may not have been so helpful.
Do EPP or other coupons stack on these deals?
No, if you try EPP it replaces the current deal with EPP which ends up usually being less. I tried last week. No go.
A discount of $400 was changed to $80 after adding EPP code.
Vostro 3550 (i5 processor) supposed to be arriving this morning.
I ordered last week, with a free 4+2GB RAM upgrade and 20% off (including warranty)
Total for the Vostro was $799 (1 yr warranty)
I wonder how it will compare to the XPS 15 I purchased 2 months ago.. it has similar specs

But I agree with other people's comments. Dell has been very good in Customer Service space for me in multiple occasions (hardware and software/user related) too.
