I think you'd find a USA friend would be paying a pretty penny to mail it onwards to you negating much of the savings.
For people who still recall dollar parity:
Today $169 comes out to $265 Australian.
And you have to pay GST on that, making it $291.5.
Even with free international shipping that's basically the same price they are charging here. Throw in currency conversion fees for example.
Remember US prices always exclude taxes whereas ours include them.
