Competition type should be Lucky Draw:-

    9. The winners will be randomly selected from the pool of entrants who have supplied their relevant details on the online entry form and answered the question correctly.

      I don't agree.

If you must complete and respond to "What type of content would you like to see in flyCBR in the future?*" as a component of entry, then a response of No. of Words or Less is integral.

If no question response were required, then it would be a Lucky Draw.

      • Sure the response is integral but winning is not based on the quality of the response. It's randomly selected and any half-reasonable response should suffice.

If winners were selected based on the quality of the response, then it would be No. of Words or Less (game of skill). Instead it's Lucky Draw (game of chance).

        • -1

But it is more than "just" a Lucky Draw, because it requires some word(s) to be input.

          Condition 9.
states that "The winners will be randomly selected from the pool of entrants who have supplied their relevant details on the online entry form and answered the question correctly."

Clearly then there is some skill in not answering the question incorrectly.

As such, merely putting an "*" asterix or typing characters at random would not suffice. Putting in a word (or words) that satisfy that requirement and answer the question is therefore necessary.

          • @holdenmg: Not sure why you're fixated on the words. Again any half-reasonable response should suffice (e.g. "more pictures", "fun facts", "celebrity profiles"), it's not an exam question nor a challenge to answer better than other entrants. It takes no skill and has no effect on the random selection of the winner.

It ain't War And Peace. It really is just a Lucky Draw.

              @UrMumsOnlyFan: Because words matter.

You advance that "any half-reasonable response should suffice" but this is conjecture on your part.

I could put "Pogo Stick" and think it is reasonable when clearly it is not.

I never said it was an exam question, but I did cite Condition 9, which you seem to skimmed over and I reiterate that there is skill in answering correctly without which you (or anyone else) won't win.

As such if you lack that capacity or skill to answer or answer in a meaningful, relevant and "correct" your entry won't be selected.

  • The reason I commented is simple - I usually skip straight past No. of Words or Less competitions. I couldn't be bothered to come up with something creative to compete in that manner. Plenty of others feel the same way and may overlook it as a result.

But this clearly isn't a No. of Words or Less competition and it took no more time or effort to make up a response than to fill out personal details. The winner will be decided by Lucky Draw.

No, the Winner will be decided by Condition 9 of the Terms and Conditions and selected from those that answered the question correctly.

As such, it is more that just a Lucky Draw, it has an additional essential component that has to be completed and completed in a correct way. If incorrect or left blank, that would indicate a lack of skill. As such completion in a correct way or putting "something of sense or meaning" is skill expounded by word, response or answer.

I usually skip Competition Posts that omit the Terms and Conditions, so maybe you could get that fixed on your submission of:

Win a One-of-a-Kind No. 27 Type II Frankenstein Edition Unisex Watch from The Camden Watch Company

I couldn't be bothered to read Competition Posts that omit the Terms and Conditions. Plenty of others feel the same way and may overlook your contribution as a result.

      • Respectfully, this is a Lucky Draw competition if winners are chosen from random. Perhaps we should create a help section for the form entry that explains what OzBargain/the comping community define each attribute of a competition.

        • Hello Moderator! 🙋
Glad to see that you exist. 😆😉

  • Here's my 2 cents worth,
You have to write something that is a complete sentence because someone will be reading the answer! If you are going to enter, just make sure that you don't just put two to three words because it isn't worth the time entering. Good luck anyway! 🍀 🌠 😊
