For example in Perth WA the best days to buy your petrol is Sunday and Monday.
I notice the qantas flights fluctuate in prices quite regularly?
Basically when is the best time to nail the cheapest quotes?
Last year booking Qantas there was a 72 hour flight sale and I was able to get perth to Melbourne for $400 return.

There are few sites like kayak or googleflights where you can set up price alerts and they email you when the price changes.
