I have this and it's been working fine for a couple of years, much longer than I ever got out of other battery chargers.
I have the two battery version of this and it gives a much better charge than other chargers I have. Faster and stronger charge.
Is it worth spending more to get the LiitoKala Lii-500 - $40 on eBay), or will this do similar job? I’m currently using the ALDI charger but it’s too slow and sometimes doesn’t charge some batteries, I end up putting them in another older Duracell charger I have for a few minutes than put back in ALDI charger for them to charge correctly with no error.
Two main distinctions;
The Lii-500 is powered by 12V and thus will most always require a wall socket adapter. The Lii-402 can be used on any USB connection (including power banks like I use) and is thus more versatile.
The Lii-500 has a fancy LCD display. The Lii-402 does not. I've never needed an LCD before and it has served me fine.
I'd say go with the 402.

If basic charging is all you want, the 402 will do the job fine.
The Lii-500 adds analysis features if you want to measure the capacity of your batteries.
