Is There a Way to Find out Your Own Credit Card Details? I no longer have the physical card, but the account Is active

Hi all,

I recently made an online purchase using my 'saved' credit card details on their website.

After completing the purchase, I have realised that I don't recognise the last four digits of the credit card used. I know, silly me as I thought it was my reserve credit card, as opposed to my two daily cards. Upon checking, it's not my reserve card or daily ones but clearly one that I have as the transaction was completed - I must have input the details onto the website at some point in the past.

I have no idea (can't recall) what the institution the card could be from.

Is there a way to find out how many cards I have? Last thing I want is the balance to become outstanding, get letters, affect credit rating etc etc.

All I know from the website is the last four digits and the expiry information.

EDIT: Culprit was my savings/debit card. This card has no credit statement as such, so it was confusing me how a VISA purchase option could exist and yet I not be able to monitor it (in the same manner I do my other cards with statements). Thanks all for the responses and leads.

Is there a way to find out how many cards I have?

Umm really? That's a thing? You have so many credit cards you've just forgotten what you have against your name?!

    • Trust me, I can't believe this exists myself. I have 3 cards mentioned that I have relied upon in recent past, such that in my mind, no other ones exist.

      • Have you ever opened an account with ING?

  • I think the only option is waiting for a statement from them i dont know how you can do anything with 4 random numbers and an expiry date

for the other cards you could try calling all the banks / lenders you think you opened accounts with but without paperwork / credit card numbers they wont talk to you

    Check old statements.
    Wait for new statement.
    Check online banking.
    Obtain credit check.

  • Transaction went through? You really should have closed your old credit card accounts because they can pull a CBA and impose account holding fees or similiar.

Chase up all your old credit card providers and cancel the accounts. Hopefully one of them will point out the pending charge.

Do a credit check? It will show you how many inquiries have been made maybe you'll be able to match the ones in your wallet

    What website?

    1. Wait for statement.
    2. Pay balance.
    3. Call card issuer on statement to report card lost/stolen.
    4. New card with new card number issued.
  • Could it be a divipay card?

How recent was it? If it didn't match any of the cards in front of you at the time, then it's most likely a virtual card.

  • Do you know the first 4 ish numbers?

  • Mastercard/Visa Gift Card?

Any chance that it could be a debit card?

Run a credit check on yourself to find out what liability you have…
