I am not sure where I should buy this phone from. Kogan and Dick smith are about $250-$300 more expensive than other sellers like gearbest, geekbuying etc. Although, I am unsure if these international sellers would honour warranty, or could have flashed global rom. Any advice would be helpful.
Where to Buy Xiaomi Mi 9 from?

Gearbest is ok for prices and delivery if you pay for expedited and insurance delivery.
Wondamobile is solid. Express delivery and they ship out of HK.
At GeekBuying all Xiaomi phones marked as "HK Warehouse" are the Official Global version and not the Chinese version with a dodgy ROM flashed ontop. While everything in the China Warehouse is the Chinese version unless stated otherwise.
Unlike Gearbest and Banggood for example there is no GST charge. Since it's an overseas company the warranty will be by their own terms.
Dick is Kogan, and they don't generally honour warrantys. At least, many people have issues with their reject-first policies.
So in that spirit, there's no difference between getting it from them or somewhere like GearBest, Geekbuying, Banggood, AliExpress, etc etc.
There could be differences in terms of GST added at the end of Checking-Out so be weary of that. And also differences in postage time length.
Both sites are vulnerable to selling you Chinese phones with malware, adware, and sending data back to Chinese servers, because they got inventory of devices that was tampered with. This has been a particular problem that Xiaomi has been fighting to combat the last 5 years. So I'm not particularly sure how your luck would be.
